I recently bought a copy of Warlords, and it just doesn't work. It's awful. Each time I start a new game, all I can see is my settler, warrior, the terrain immediately around them, and... nothing else. No menus, no options, no toolbars, nothing. I was wondering if having a mod installed on Vanilla could be causing this, and, if so, how to completely delete a mod from my Civ IV folder.

Mods shouldn't have any effect on the game unless they are loaded (which won't happen if you're playing warlords), or you directly copied over the vanilla civ file's with the mods (which could have an effect on how well warlords worked) instead of putting them in their seperate folders in the mods folder.

The presence of any mod files whatever in the custom assets folder could cause just these kind of problems in the upgrade from 1.52 to 1.61, so it sounds like they are quite possibly the culprit. Empty everything out of your custom assets folder, and only load mods that are specifically labelled as Warlords compatible. Don't forget to empty the cache as well.
