I saw a press release about how the existing mod browsing system is being replaced with steam workshop. It didn't say anything about allowing mods to be used in multiplayer games. This is a really big deal. Master of Mana multiplayer games for Civ IV were amazing, but the sync problems really caused a problem. I'm gonna buy G&K expansion anyway, but I know about five people who have already said they will not unless multiplayer mod functionality is added. Players are working to upgrade and balance the content. The amount of patches for the overall game balance for Civ V was appallingly poor in my estimation. Mods by players such as Civilization Nights really improve the overall quality of the game experience. I personally want to be able to play with my friends in a modded game environment. Please post if you have knowledge of the topic or support the use of mods for multiplayer.

I haven't heard any mention of it, but I'm right with you on that. Heck, I'd be a happy camper if they at least allowed us to host custom scenarios. They put a lot of boasted work and pride into their SDK, but we can't play multiplayer with the things we make? Come on, Firaxis!

I would be happy if they make the AI appear in MP games. I love playing mixed games with friends. But the way it is now you will see the AI being there but he is not available for chat at all. It is like the AI doesnt know I am there since I have to do the contacting... Seems really retarted to me.

Will not buy until MP is fixed. But I have to say that CiV has grown on me since release day. Not that it is acceptable to release such a faulty game in the first place. But they have sort of made it playable and enjoyable.
