shyuhe
Deity
Default settings = monarch/epic. Good times
Victim order - Mao, AC, Shaka, Toku, Bismarck, Izzy.
I didn't take a lot of shots as it was mostly romping immortals against Mao + AC. Vs. Shaka, I used trebs and maces to take a few cities until I got curaissiers, at which point I switched to those. Wiped Shaka out for the land, then capitulated Toku, Bismarck, and Izzy in quick succession.
I didn't chain war right into Shaka as my economy was hurting from too many cities pre-alpha/currency. I had oracled for CoL for cheap courthouses - in hindsight, alphabet or currency probably would have been better choices. As a result, Shaka snuck a bunch of cities through my borders but they weren't very well defended so I took them once I declared on him. If he weren't such a troop spammer with a spearman UU, I probably would have attacked him straight on after AC with immortals.
Shaka wasn't very willing to capitulate so it took a while to whittle him down. By the time he was willing to capitulate, he was <10 turns from elimination so I just decided to wipe him out.
Toku capitulated really quickly. I took out his SoD and he was willing to talk - didn't even have to take a city! (2 turns). I then declared on Bismarck as soon as I capped Toku to speed up the "do not talk" delay. He took a bit longer, mostly because I needed to move troops into position (10 turns?). Izzy was short - 2 turns before she capitulated.
The power graph:
I didn't choose a good hammer site so my military production was pretty slow until I got HE up and running in Rome. It wasn't a great site but better than the jungle (that I didn't even manage to clear by the end of the game).
