10) Name the Mongol lord who held the Mongol Yuan dynasty of China together thru some of its final days.
Zhu Yuan-zhang was the last Yuan emperor, but do you mean KublaiKhan?

Joespaniel, you got everything wrong. When in doubt, guess Russians hehe.

AoA, you got almost everything right except for 6) and 10). ;) For 10), Zhu Yuanzhang was the first emperor of the Ming and the most successful anti-Yuan rebel. Hardly Mongol. I am referring to the Mongol high official who held together the Mongols thru the last decades of the Yuan dynasty.

For 7), the Merkits were Nestorian Christians. For 8), I was thinking of the Orkhon Valley but maybe my question wasn't too clear, so I'll give it to you.

Aaah, something for me :D

1) Genghis Khan organized his troops into units called tumen. How many men in each tumen?

Bah, too easy. Two men !lol!

3) Name of Genghis Khan's wife?

Kira. Private joke :D

9) What's Batu's relationship to Genghis Khan?

He's my cousin.
Anything else?

ARRGG
I thought i was the only one who kne that the
Merkits
were nestorian christians...

6)Uygures, that tribe from turkestan.

10?
I thought it was Kublai Khan also.

FYI for 10), Kublai Khan (no, not the Kublai-Khan in this forum but the real historical Kublai Khan :D) died a long time before the end of the Yuan; there were quite a number of Yuan emperors after Kublai before the end. Anyway I am referring to a Mongol high OFFICIAL, not the ruler.
And for 6), the Uighurs are a Turkic tribe, not Mongol. That's why Xinjiang is also known as Chinese Turkestan. The tribe I am referring to operated somewhat to the north (I think) of the Uighurs.

Before I forget, answers are : -

6) The Dzungars. Some of their descendants are still around in Kirghizstan. Some of the Kirghiz are descended fr Dzungars driven westwards too.

10) Temur Togh. Probably too obscure cos this was during the sunset of the Mongol Yuan empire.

Anyone can have a go at the next question. If you aren't playing Civ3 that is ....
