Moral Implications

Redemtion is good, but for mortals. Demons ... i don't know. Now, a good Svartalfar is doomed to comparisions. Good vampire dilutes the flavor of the Calabium. Ah! A good barbarian! A redeemed Orc, perhaps.

No, orcs are fithly dirty creatures purely meant for target practice and extinction. They are a prime example of how the Gods and Nature can make a mistake.

A good orc is a cool thing. A good vampire is very cool, but that would as you say dilute the flavor of calabim.

What about vampire Hunter D?
or Hellsing?
Are they not fun examples of.....er....less bad vampires?

What's wrong with a good vampire? Anyone ever play Castlevania: Symphony of The Night? Oh wait that's a half-vampire in that game. Come on surely someone could come up with a reason why an "evil" entity would simply give up "evil" and join "good." Then explain it in the background story!

EDIT: DAMN IT I'M TOO SLOW AT RESPONDING >(

Or about how a black vampire hooks up with a grizzled old man, then develops cool weaponry, garlic acid laced weapons, silver bow launchers, black armor. And groovy techno beats play wherever he goes. Oh, and he just happens to be able to walk in daylight and wants to kill all vampires.

Honestly, ive always looked at these alignments as more "Lawful" vs "Chaos" than good vs evil. Perhaps we ought just change the alignement titles?
I absolutely agree. I'm doubling Qes' request!

Well, we have Lawful Evil (calabim, [anyone else?]), and we have chaotic evil (pretty much ever other evil civ it seems). And we have chaotic good (Basium?, Malakim?)

QES, do you think it's worthwhile to post a poll conserning the alignment names? (1. Remain as they are 2. Change to lawful/chaotic 3. Change to something else)

A Law/Chaos would require more than a simple name change - Chaotic Good does not translate into 'Lawful', nor does Lawful Evil translate into 'Chaotic'.

(Do we really want the Calabim and the Bannor sharing an alignment?)

I say keep Good/Evil for now, and only replace it if the full 9-alignment DnD scale or a version thereof is implemented.
