No, this is not a good idea. The resources that they have are pretty good. You get those that give food, those that give shields and food, those that give shields, those that give food and money, those that give shields and money, those that give money. If you want more resources in Civ3, all you have to do is go to the thread for Customization and Creation in this thread.

I love what Civ3 did with resources (especially the strategic ones). There may be tweaks that I thought could be better, but on the whole, they made major leaps beyond what Civ2 had!

I agree, more resources would be very nice!
8 Strategic resources doesn't really cut it imo - there should be something like 20, which would make trading/conquering sources much more important.

As for luxuries, I think the amount for the current system is perfect. However, I'd like to see more added, but then they'd have to change the way luxuries affects happiness..

More Bonus resources can only do good, and should definitely be added.

Yes, I would like to see more resources, but they would be more common, like bronze for spearman or lumber for ships... etc.
They would give a 1-shield, food, com bonus, so they won't be too powerful.
