It's funny somebody voted no but didn't specify what the move should be. Porn, why did you zoomed that part of the map, I can't see anything there. Care to explain it?

When you look closesly at some of the shoreline squares in Civ, it is possible to see that they have ocean on two sides. From the square he has zoomed in on, it is clear that there is water on the north side, but you can also tell that there is water to the east of that plains as well.
I think that you should explore exactly as you have shown. This will allow us to discover any other possible specials in the city radius. It is no longer possible for us to get a 4 special capital, but there are a number of 3 special locations and I'm hoping for another whale or some fish in one of the dark squares. Next time we can head northwards, but having made the error before, I'm always loathe to jump to the conclusion that my capital is on a peninsular. Bloody Vikings!

I don't think is a waste. We'll see if there's another bonus tile, and we'll have a betterview of our citie site.

Fortunately I didn't vote before and now must admit that CM is right. It's only a move difference, but could have a major impact on when we contact other tribes and future decisions as a whole. I suggest that we settle next to the sea on the east coast and then use the first defensive unit we build to explore before fortifying. The whale will provide us with enough resources to have the city doing nicely by the time we uncover those extra squares. :goodjob:

I voted no . . .

I feel that Corn's option is the better one. We need to get at the goody huts to the north since there is only water to the south.

I also concur with the blue arrows. We should found our city on the E side regardless of what specials are there.

the reason to why i suggested the southern trace is if we don´t find any bonus tile there it might be better to settle in the settler present position (even if i still think it´s better to move the settler SE).

Hmm. ,i hope this poll wil be soon decided ,so we can continue the game.I'm thinking to ultimatly close this poll on 21.00 GMT.

I agree with corn ,we should get our pony to the north. There could be an extra resource to the south ,but we don't have to set our priority's on checking that out on the moment ,since the poll concerning the place the settler must settle is clearly pointing to the option settling south of the place it stands now ,we can check the surrounding tiles later. So we have time for that later.

I say go to the North and do some exploring. There may be another hut or resources there. Maybe there'll be another Whale, or something better.

I voted 'Nah it sux, lets do it like this' before CM posted his suggestion.
I just forgot to explain why. Why? Just like CM said in his post. So 1 vote for corn.
