I suggest more agile city governors with different profiles and bonuses e.g. for production, agriculture, city mood, etc. One should be able to exchange the governors between cities in order to push cities or compensate disadvantages.

The older one's should know this city governor concept from "Master of Orion 2". What do you think about that?

I'm 40. I've never played Master of Orion 2. What age were you thinking of?

Civ 3 already has the ability to set each city governer differently. How is what you're suggesting different than that?
Maybe I'd know what you meant if I played MoO2, but I haven't, and I'm sure there's lots of other Civ players that haven't either.

i find master of orion 2 as simple, as much fun and as good or better gameplay as civ3 but the graphics are really old

the game was released in the middle of the nineties

better governors perhaps, but please not a micromanagement issue like in medieval total war

Yes!! This is a biggie IMO.
I don't know about Master of Orion 2, but the Civ3 governor is far too inflexible.

I have noticed that the Civ 3 Governor doesn't always adjust to change of situation, though. Shouldn't Manage City Happiness mean that if the city becomes unhappy, it is adjusted to repair that? Doesn't seem very useful, if I have to keep checking my cities to make certain that none go into civil disorder because of a negligent or inattentive Governor.

As I always say when it comes to things like this, a province system would help with all of this, and make city management more streamlined.
