Trebuchets are good, I already added them at Engineering. ;)

What I really want in artillery is an SP (self propelled) Howitzer, like the US M-109.

I would like to see early steam powered ships, like ocean liners and dreadnaughts. Something to bridge the gap between galleon and transport, ironclad and battleships. I have them at Replaceable Parts in my game.

A cruiser would be a nice touch. Early steam (battle cruiser) and an oil powered (WWII style). All could upgrade to AEGIS cruiser.

Adding Balou's Light Infantry (Modern) couldnt hurt.

And attack choppers, at Smart Weapons. Those are alot of fun. :D

The fighter upgrades to jet fighter, but there is no supersonic bomber. How about an A-6 or B-52 ?

Had enough yet? :p

Thanks Firaxis. :goodjob:

I don't think that I'm looking for more units per se, but I would like to see an extra UU for each Civ. The UUs give each Civ a lot of their unique flavor, and particularly now after PTW where each civ no longer has a unique pair of characheristic traits (and this presumably will only get worse with the new expansion).

It will also help to balance the power of some of the Civs with weak, or late UUs (America, Germany, England, Korea) compared to those with early or strong units (Persia etc).

The mod makers and unit designers of this forum have already done all the hard work and I would think that most would be thrilled to have their work included in an official expansion pack.

German Teutonic Knights charging through Poland; Russian T72s invading China; French Foreign Legoinaires in the African desert; Viking Longboats off the American coast, Oh there's so much more that could be done.

But, I'm not holding my breath.

I like how they added so much to the middle ages

They better have more than one new unit added to the game, though

I'd like to see the Med Inf upgrade to Marines (shock troops), the cavalry be upgradeable. No unit should become obsolete in the Modern Age.

Archer -> LongBowman -> Guerrila
Swordsman -> Med Inf -> Marine
Spearman -> Pikeman -> Musketman -> Rifleman -> Infantry -> Mech Infantry
Horseman -> Knight -> Cavalry -> Tank -> Modern Armor

Adding new units generic units (except to fill in gaps) isn't that big of a deal to me.

Multiple UU's for each Civ would be a nice addition. That would allow different age UU's to be able to set off a golden age. The current system causes some to have the GA either too early (Greek or Babs) or too late (U.S.) or not at all (Korea, England).

All of these changes are pretty simple based on what I've read about some of the user mods. The multi-figure units also would be a nice option.

They are assault troops, but whatever...

Firaxis should seriously think about replacing that paratrooper. He must get shot alot, being bright white colored and all. ;)

Well I personally think that after buying those expansion packs we deserve a lot more units that we haven't already downloaded from cfc. The PTW extras were good but they were kind of random. If there are going to be flavor units they should be consistently provided through each era and include naval units.

If they add more units then they need to increase the prices of technology and at the same time increase the minimun time that it takes to research a tech. from 4 turns to at least 15 turns, because what is the point on building a unit if in 4 turn it will become absolete.

RE: Howitzers

Oh god, NO!. no more bombard units. Unless the AI can use them to blow the **** out of human cities, no thank you. We'll just see another 100 posts with some smart ass player bragging about how they beat AI on diety with lame ass Howitzer stacks and ROP rape. "GG, LOL" -No need to play an honorable game where you actually use combined arms, deal diplomatically, and follow the spirit of the game.

I also think that two UU's would be cool but only in different eras, like one in the Ancient Ages and one in the Middle Ages. I want an upgrade for Cavalry, too. Having a Cavalry in the Modern Ages is junk. New generic units would add a variety to the combat styles. I would prefer units with more effects than normal units. Maybe Firaxis could even develop new strategic resources for a whole new set of units and possibilities...

Firaxis also downgraded the attack and defense strengths of the Marine and Paratrooper in PTW and I don't use em anymore (I never used Paratroopers anyway). I used to like em but now I rarely use em.

How about an improved worker (like the civ2 engineer), who can remove jungle faster, clean pollution faster, convert desert to plains, build canals, bridges over one square of water? Give them double movement of worker and double the cost. Allow them to do irrigation, mining, build road/rail at normal worker speed. You could upgrade your current workers to these, but not imported (slave) workers.

As an added feature, it would be nice for these workers to create resources in appropriate terrain, like drill for oil in a desert or tundra , mine for iron / gold / gems /coal /uranium on a mountain, with a 1/5 chance of getting the resource.

I would like to see 4 more aerial units in Civ3

1. Dive Bomber-- 0/0/1( 8.0.3) Range--4 Cost :70 Req Tech:Adv Fight
Role: Close in bomber, cheaper, but highly vulnerable.

2.Tactical Bomber-0/1/1 (12.0.4) Range --8 Cost: 90 Req Tech: Laser
Role: Same as Dive bomber, causes more damage, costlier

3.Jet Bomber - 0/2/1 (14.0.4) Range --12 Cost 120 Req Tech: Synthetic Fibres
Role: Upgrade of Bomber, more range and firepower

4.Attack Helicopter I still have'nt figured out exactly how this unit will work, but I feel, as attempt should be made towards such a unit.

And I would also like to see a second UU for all civs.
