While japan's favor with me drops like a rock from the lack of open borders (heh, I wonder if he starts opening up in the 1800s), he doesn't seem to bother me much either. Montezuma's just a freaking *$#hole.

Rome. Caesar is to date the only person to attack me in the ancient era (and he nearly won thanks to his praetorians).

Honourable mention for the crusader Isabella though.

Greece.
If Alexander is your neighbour he will declare war
sooner or later no matter how good the relations are.

France. Louis is not really very strong, but he gets onto my nerves. In almost every game i play he is one of my opponents, either on another continent or way on the other side of a pangaea so that i couldn`t really gain anything by fighting him. He frequently declares war on me and sends by 3-4 weak units about once every 5 turns and absolutely refuses to sign a piece treaty for a long time, so my citizens become unhappy, they refuse to work, because i have to give them extra culture my science rate drops bla bla bla.
Sometimes I wonder if that isn`t the real reason he keeps attacking me...

The psychos (you know who I mean) have never really threatened me in the long run. It's those honourable, friendly and harmonious *******s that you stay friends with that win the space race.

I can't stand France! I've played a ton of totally random games and everytime, I'm competing/fighting to the bitter end with Louis! He haunts my every turn...

Aztec, hands down!
Montezuma is such a !%§$, always starting wars he can't possibly win, dragging himself and whomever he's fighting with (more often than not me) to the bottom of the score list for the rest of the game.

Japan and Tokugawa comes at a handsome second, but his mercantilist policy combined with his warmongering usually ends up with the other AIs teaming up against him.

On third Mansa "tech-whore" Musa always gives me a good run in the space race, and has snatched the "first to discover"-bonuses from under my nose many a time.

I haven't had much trouble with Isabella, though... Sure, she's always annoyed and uncooperative, but she's also always too small to be a threat.

The only one I really hate is Montezuma. I've NEVER played a game with him on the map that he didn't declare war on me or one of my friends. I've never played against Isabella though.

I would have to say Alexander is the biggest pain in the A. Seems to always steal my next to be built city area and you can pretty much bet if you are going down the dimplomatic path that he will declare war and crush you. He always seems to be my closest neighbour. Isabella then Mao and Tokugawa. Once joined Mao in crushing Isabella crossed Maos entire area to sack two of her cities and then robbed her so she could have peace. Mao within 10 turns had dismissed our open borders, demanded techs (I refused) and thought he had enough to destoy me. Not quite could have done it alone but Cyrus helped wipe him out.

Thins can't be a coincidence. Isabella is a troublemaker!!!!

Rome. I hate Rome. Every time Rome is one of the opposing civs, he ALWAYS gets Iron, and there ALWAYS seems to be a huge unstoppable column of Praetorians threatening to rip through my civs. The minute Julius Caesar's portrait shows up in the early game, I cuss and start building Axemen...

So this one time, he demands all of this crap from me. And like, I don't even know where Rome is! It's certainly not anywhere near me. So I tell him to shove off, and he declares war. I quickly forget about the entire thing....

.. until about ten turns when later a good ole Praetorian stack shows up on my border with Japan..

Tokugawa and monty are the worst as far as stupid war, but the most dangerous ones I think are the ones like ghandi that dont bother anybody, you leave them alone, and suddenly you notice their mech infantry while youre building riflemen. Now I try to destroy india by making monty or one of the other monger nations just fight them over and over every game. Sometimes mansa too just cause he's almost as research oriented.

France and specifically Napoleon, the worst warmonger ever. It doesn't matter what you do he's after your ass all the time (not literaly) =)

Who doesn't hate the Aztecs? :ar15:

Gandhi is the biggest pain to me...I've had wars where I've taken 1/2 of his cities then sued for peace...and ten turns later he's just about forgiven me and wants open borders...peace loving fool :)

Aztecs are usually the #1 threat in most games. I always thought the Mongolians are the most warmongrol civ since all the way back to Civilization 1.
