Most Similar Game To Civ III ?

Can someone recomend me the Game that is most similar to Civ III?

It has to be STRATEGIC (if posible: history and gegraphy involved, but not that important) and NOT Real Time Play (I tried Rise of Nation, and didn't like it, mostly becouse that thing) it's has to be turn based.

Will appriciate any idea.

Well for a similar is Alpha Centauri, that pretty much all that comes to mind.

Yeah Alpha Centauri, its better than Civ 3.

There are many options:

-Try Civ 2 Test of Time.

-Or Civ 3 with a mod. (DyP?)


-Or get Areena 5... oh wait, it's only Finnish.

-Wait for Civ IV.

-Play chess.
