Movement Priority

I noticed in the Firaxis livestream footage that one of my bugbears playing the game is still alive and present. That is when you're involved in some kind of multi unit altercation at a certain location, your attention is constantly dragged away to attend to another focus. For example, in the livestream they were dealing with barbarians with multiple units, and then the battle would be interrupted to deal with solo warrior unit (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oRSbI8NANno&t=77m14s).

When this happens to me while playing, I have to manually allocate my unit turn so that I can focus on a particular cluster first, or the taking of a city which I'm dying to resolve, etc.

So, is it too difficult for the game to prioritise military units in a cluster first, then deal with miscellaneous units like scouts and naval units later? What sets the unit priority in the first place?
 
I noticed the exact same thing just now and was just about to post this exact thread. It is so annoying that the unit order seems to be etched in stone as to what order they where created. PLEASE PLEASE smarten that up and cycle to units NEAR the currently selected unit that still have moves left.

Even better would be to have the unit order automatically adjust itself to the order you moved them LAST turn. But PLEASE STOP dragging the camera back and forth across the map.
 
They also state at the time that they have the auto camera cycling on. Sounds like something that can be turned off.
 
It's not the auto cycle that is the heart of the problem, it's the order of cycle even when you do it manually.
