MP Team Starts Mod/Map Script?

Recently I've been playing some Civ V with some friends and we like to do a team of us versus a team of the AI. Unfortunately most of the maps do not have the ability to do a team start, so we have to cross our fingers, generate a map and hope for the best. That method results in us restarting a lot.

Maps like East vs West have a "team start" toggle.


Is adding that "team start" toggle to other maps something straight forward? Has anyone done it before? I'm not on my home computer at the moment so I can't mess around myself yet.
