Hi there you computer know alls!

I bought a mp3 player for my car a few weeks ago. I want to convert my cd's into mp3s (in that part I succeed) and then burn them on CD as mp3s. It is very easy to do so, but I have a problem.
I want the cd with folders and in each folder one CD with the tracks in the same order as on the original CD. This way I should be able to put 7 or 8 CDs on one CD. When using Nero ot Adaptec the only way to put files in order, is by size, date or alphabet, but not by the way I want to. A solution would be to rename the files, but I guess there must be an easier way.

The best option would be to convert and burn in one time. Does anyone have the solution?

Cheers,
Stapel

Here's how I do it when I burn CDs for my car MP3 player. I organize all of my MP3 files that are already on my hardrive. I segregate them by genre, artist, and album into different folders. In each folder I name the song first by the number, then artist name, then title.

So for instance I have a root folder, then I have 4 main: Dance, Hip Hop, Alternative, Other. Inside of Other I have a folder named 'Madonna.' Inside of the Madonna folder I have two sub-folders: 'Music' and 'American Life.' Let's look at the American Life folder. The first track is the song 'American Life.' So I have titled the track: 01 - American Life.mp3
Track 10 on that folder is: 10 - Die Another Day.mp3

It's important to have the numbers in front of the track, because when you take the files to burn them, it will order them in a certain way, and normally the best way to do this is by naming them and listing them in order. For numbers 1 through 9 be sure to place a 0 in front of them so that the computer doesn't mix up the order (so it would read: 01, 02, 03.. 09, 10, 11).

Now so far, this is the way that I burn my MP3 CDs. There are programs out there that make it a bit easier, but I haven't actually checked them out to try it. I know that Windows Media Player 9 will let you burn CDs through it, and it's possible to edit the tags on each MP3 file to include the track number so that you can place them in that order. And programs like Adaptec and Nero (the newer versions) are including tutorials and templates for MP3 CDs. You can check to see if yours has those. If not, then I recommend just trying the way I listed above.

(And to let people know: No, I did not download those songs off of a program illegally. I took my CDs that I own and I converted them to MP3 files so I can put all my CDs onto 5 or 6 MP3 CDs. Saves time and space while driving in the car.)

Thanks Jeratain!

This solution is the one I was thinking of. Maybe WMP 9 (is it there yet?) will make things easier.

Many of my mp3 turn out to be corrupted :( . What is the best program to convert my (legally bought) cd tracks into mp3s?

In the rare cases I want to turn audio tracks to files on the computer I use WMP9 (yes there is) and turn them into WMA. If the MP3 cd-player can take them, that might be the easiest way from cd to MP3-cd.
