I don't know about attacking in your territory, but if you attack them in neutral territory it still triggers an MPP. I have used this tactic to force countries to fight for me (i.e. Get an MPP with one civ, declare war on another, then move a troop next to one of their units. They attack and trigger your MPP with the first civ. I have done this with civs based on the other side of the world when they have wandering troops near but outside my borders).Originally posted by Woody
MPP only kicks in when when an attack takes place within the culture boundries of the country you have the pact with. Therefore you can attack invaders in your own territory without triggering the MPP but as soon as you counterattack into territory under your oppents culture influence the MPP will take effect.
