MTW: The glorious English empire!

He said when, that doesn't mean it will be any time soon. He probably just thinks they will because it is quite a major bug and really does deserve to be fixed.

Ok. I thought when he said "when" as in it is going to happen soon. It really deserves to be fixed, even though it doesn't ruin gameplay a whole lot, I think it should be taken care of.

Good job Quokka, and you are welcome. I'm flattered that in one reign I've entirely changed:eek: from horrible to good. But can't Italian Infantry handle knights? I was under the impression of such, and thus decided not to focus on cav:rolleyes:. Do go ahead and spend away. That was the point of my massive treasury, so my successor could blow it all on pointless wars;). By the way, hope your situation improves Dell.

They will be releasing a patch to fix the 56 king age? Great!

Yes in a couple of weeks. Creative Assembly have already passed it onto Activision for testing and release.

These were posted at totalwar.org by CA programmers GilJaysmith and Captain Fishpants.

Original July 17th:

Update Aug 30th:
The patch is only a new EXE and changes nothing about the existing folder structure or how it's used.

Update Sept 1st:
Nothing is changing about how any of the files are used, i.e. no changes in file formats.

AFAIK anything modded in VI will work post-patch.

Update Sept 3rd:
Quote (Stormer @ Sep. 03 2003,09:40)
he can sneak us out a RTW demo, all in good time gil? ;)
btw is there a realease date of the patch?

lol... you can dream :) I don't know when a Rome demo will appear but that's Dutch's and Knuckles' province anyway.

Release date for the patch: don't know, but I'll try to find out and keep you posted as it moves through the pipeline. (Which makes it sound like some gizmo from the last Bond movie but one...)

Update Sept 10th:
"The "56 bug" and the reinforcements-ordering bug are both fixed by the patch.

The patch is currently being tested. No ETA yet.

Gil ~ CA"

Update Sept 11th:
The patch is being tested right now. I can't say for sure when it'll be released because I don't know how long it'll take to package it up and all the other stuff (it's an official patch so Activision is involved). But it ought to be pretty soon; certainly weeks rather than months.

The patch fixes the forum split, the repeatable crashout when someone drops or quits, and the variable behaviour of an army when someone drops or quits. For SP it fixes the pre-battle screen's order of reinforcements and the 56-year bug. And a couple of other things may have been looked at.

Final Update Sept 27th:
The patch is now in the hands of Activision, and will be released once they've done their final testing sweep. I don't know when that will be, however. If I find out a release date before it actually happens then I'll post it up; until it rolls around there's nothing to do except sit tight and wait, sorry.

And a copy from another thread of what is in the patch.

I don't know if you saw this but at the .com forum Giljaysmith posted the readme. Giljaysmith=This is the readme:

General Fixes
-------------
- Fixed a bug where cavalry would receive a charge bonus ad infinitum under certain circumstances.
- Removed a command line cheat that would unlock the camera giving an unfair advantage on the battlefield.

Singleplayer Fixes
------------------
- Reinforcements in campaign battles now appear in the order selected in the pre-battle screen.
- Kings will no longer die of old age at exactly 56 years.

Multiplayer Fixes
-----------------
- All multiplayer players will now appear in the Medieval: Total War chat room and can talk to one another. Please note that Medieval: Total War games will not show up for Viking Invasion players and vice versa.
- The occasional crash/lockup bug when a player quits from a multiplayer game has been eradicated.
or the patch.

Now you know what I know.

Alex, II can generally handle Cav if they are attacked it but they aren't that great as attack troops. They can also be flanked and Chivalric Knights will maul them pretty good even if they do end up winning. I still won most of the battles. I like to use Heavy Cav to attack but didn't have the option other than a few Mtd Sgts, and they aren't any good against Elite units. I lost hundreds to Knights, CMAA and Chiv Sgts. The AI has tons of Pavs now and Mtd Sgts just bounce off them. On the upside we have never lost a province. II are hard to budge.

The next 10 years.

1255
The Sicilians re-emerge on Malta, where they’ll be stuck for the rest of the game.
Forces from Normandy and Navarre invade Castile.

Battle of Castile: 724 killed, 413 prisoners, 224 dead, 2000 Fl pillaged, no ransom
The Almohad King was a 6 star and the 7 units of Ghulam Bodyguards proved quite a handful. For some strange reason the Mtd X-Bows didn’t skirmish at all during the battle and consequently suffered heavy losses. I find that every now and then this happens, especially to Horse Archers. No worries we have more. The King was killed and his heir is only a 1 star who is Weak Defender. Strangely the other surviving Ghulam general is a 4 star that is a Weak Defender and a Poor Attacker. He obviously hasn’t had the best of things for a while.

1256
The damn Spanish attacked our fleets and lost, so the pope has asked us to return our troops and leave them alone for 10 years. This really annoys me, they are allowed to sink our ships with impunity, but if they lose we get the blame. A quick invasion of Leon is about to occur, Valencia too I think. Both will be made possible due to new alliances with the Polish and Hungarians. I got all our Princes married off. I just read last night on totalwar.org that marrying foreign princesses strengthens the bloodline and stops all the Inbred and Odd Number of Toes vices. We’ll see.

1257
I invade Leon, Valencia and Cordoba to prevent reinforcing either of the other two and also storm the Citadel in Castile.

Battle of Leon: 738 killed, 0 prisoners, 334 dead, 2900 Fl pillaged.
This was a very good army they had. Royal and Feudal Knights, Chiv Sgts and MAA and plenty of Pavise X-Bows all well upgraded. Spanish Heavy Cav led by a 4 Star tore up our Italian Infantry and the CMAA chewed ours up. Luckily they had some Urban Militia that I could break or we would have lost many more. Once they broke and ran I got some Mtd Sgts in behind and then the others broke as well. Pavs don’t die like Archers from charging Mtd Sgts and took a lot with them. I killed all the prisoners to avoid meeting them again. I just wish Mtd X-Bows fired faster as they were the only truly effective units.

Battle of Cordoba: 266 killed, 324 prisoners, 75 dead, 1247 Fl ransom, 1175 Fl pillaged
We fielded a much better if smaller army here and made them pay. Outnumbered 2:1 our general is now an Specialist Attacker (+3) my first one ever.

Battle of Valencia: 23 killed, 0 prisoners, 42 dead
I forgot that without a ship in the Gulf of Valencia the crossing from Aragon is a bridge battle. They had the perfect army (2 Arbalests, 3 Pav X-bows, 4 Archers, 2 Catapults, Chiv Sgts) to defend the bridge and the beginning lineup saw us within range of 2 Arbs and 2 Archer units which is were most of our casualties came from. An attempt to lure them across cost a few more troops before I just withdrew.

Citadel of Castile: 365 killed, 106 prisoners, 83 dead, End of Almohads
Easy battle against Peasants, the Citadel took out all our men.

1258
I storm Castles in Leon and Cordoba.

Castle of Leon: 70 killed, 35 prisoners, 36 dead.

Castle of Cordoba: 388 killed, 0 prisoners, 335 killed
I failed to take the Castle. I used the remnants of Mercenary units to as the bulk of the army and it backfired as the Halberdiers and Mil Sgts broke and ran when they got to half strength. I was trying to get in under the 2 year time limit and didn’t have enough shock troops.

We get excommunicated. The Pope is only 27 so we will stay excommunicated until Doge Enrico dies. Sorry about that, but at least I can fight the Spanish continuously now. Unfortunately we can’t use our brand new Crusade which is in Champagne.

1259
Gunpowder is discovered. That’s the first time I have seen that message, the longest its taken me to get to 60% before is 1245.

The Pope asks for Crusades against us. I think that’s a fine idea and will attack him and raze Rome. The Egyptians are exterminated by Rebels. The Byzantines are headed down the same road. All of the Middle East except for Egypt (Italian), Tripoli and Edessa (Byzantine) is in Rebel hands.

Castle of Cordoba: 122 killed, 38 prisoners, 35 dead, 847 Fl ransom.

With the Capture of Cordoba we can now make Feudal Knights, one turn before we could make them in Aragon.

The game crashed when I went to save it so I had to replay 1259. The only difference was we lost 45 less men storming the Castle but our two Assassins both died instead of killing their targets.

1260
Pope on a Rope.

Battle of Rome: 359 killed, 0 prisoners, 89 dead, 2800 Fl pillaged, End of Papacy.
Apart from teleporting Spearmen, a good battle. Not one Papist made it off the battlefield. One of their Spearmen units walked straight through my lines and attacked the Mtd Sgts behind. Weird. All their other units engaged the line properly. I guess they had a little Divine Intervention.

1261
Rome is razed to the ground. Our services cost the Papacy 2675 Fl. I’ll wait three turns and then abandon the province. We are no longer excommunicated and morale and loyalty are back to normal levels.

Battle of Valencia: 284 killed, 0 prisoners, 380 dead.
Valencia is being a hard nut to crack. Trying to force the bridge is costly. A 25 man Mil Sgt unit of ours was completely destroyed crossing. I watched as the Arbs took out the final 6 men all in one volley, impressive. I did manage to get across but lost everything that made it over when our Mtd X-bows couldn’t outrun Mtd Sgts. I hate it how AI cav can stay at Attack speed across the entire map. I’ll have to wait until we get more cav. At least our mercenary bill is almost nil now.

1264
The Germans have an invincible ship in the Baltic that keeps sinking all the ships I send in there so I’m going to sack the Germans provinces. I invade both Pomerania and Brandenburg. I also invade Morocco as that’s where the Spanish are training all their troops. Last year I tried to bribe 2 rebel armies in Antioch. Like always one joined, one didn’t. At least the one that joined had the 4 star in it. I also bribed the 6 star in Cyranecia and he’ll join next turn.

Battle of Pomerania: 2125 Fl pillaged
The Germans declined to fight. Later I saw that they abandoned the province. This is where their King and Princes were, so when I took Brandenburg as well that was the end of the Germans instead of just a sacking.

Battle of Brandenburg:312 killed, 159 prisoners, 124 dead, 2100 Fl pillaged, End of the Germans
I thought these guys had high morale and it wasn’t until afterwards I found out why. Way more expensive than I thought it would be.

Battle of Antioch: 83 killed, 0 prisoners, 28 dead, 500 Fl pillaged.
The scraps of two rebel armies facing off. Units were all broken and had such highlights as 5 Ghazi Vs 11 Saracens.

20th anniversary. State of the Union.
The borders have expanded to include Leon, Castile, Cordoba, Morocco, Antioch, Brandenburg and Pomerania. The Castle in Morocco, Antioch and Brandenburg still need to be stormed but they are as good as ours.
The crown Prince Lorenzo came of age last year and is a 5 star, 4 Acumen prince. Those foreign Princesses were worth it.
Our income hovers around 16,000 Fl and our balance is up to 226,000 Fl. This is despite heavy building.
Aragon and Cordoba can build Feudal Knights with Genoa 3 years and Milan and Sicily 4 years away. I have teched up every province. Interior provinces can all build Feudal Sgts and MAA, Mil Sgts, Mtd Sgts and X-bows. Not that I build any new units there but I have found later in the game you have to be able to throw together armies quickly to stop rebellions or whatever. Coastal provinces are the same, with the more advanced specializing. I have also built many Castles so that they can build the higher Merchants. All of the Iron provinces have built non-stop towards producing the attack troops and Knights. All have at least 1 weapon and 1 armour upgrade with some having more.
Our Governors are really starting to dip into the pot, with 18 of 36 having some negative and 4 needing to be stripped to get rid of Brigands and Family Above All. Most are still the –10% Agriculture, -10% Trade, but I can live with that if we are still making 16,000 Fl.
Rome is empty but hasn’t rebelled even though loyalty is around 50%.

The Byzantines have staged a miraculous comeback and now own all of the Middle East except Antioch and Egypt, which are ours. England is showing signs of life as they have just launched a ship. The Horde have also stabilized and are building new units. Silver shield Mongol Heavy Cavalry are appearing in Constantinople, scary.

Italians1265.JPG

You might want to hold Egypt and Antioch, as if they block the Byz, then they will want to fight the Horde. Plus it will give us room for expansion on North Africa. I must say the English look pretty good (as targets:p). You're doing well. Glad to see that my walls of II allowed decent developement and expansion.:D

I am still slogging through this. The weekend will give me some more time.

I have taken Granada, Valencia, Cyranecia, Bohemia, Hungary and Serbia, and hot off the presses, England declares WAR!

Turns are taking a while now so I'll post these 5 and try to knock some more out tomorrow. Rebellions have started so its likely to take even longer now.

1265
Rome finally rebels, with 1700 Spearmen, 420 Arbalests and 420 Archers showing their displeasure with us. I was getting a little worried there. Rome had been vacant for a few years but the loyalty had been growing. I expect the Papacy to come back in a few years and didn’t want to be at war with them straight away, after all I killed the Pope to be re communicated.
Our assassins killed a couple of pesky Inquisitors that burnt some of our people last turn. Our Inquisitors are burning people in their thousands in Mongol territory. They still haven’t managed to burn anyone of importance.
Cyranecia joins us.

Castle of Brandenburg: 77 killed, 37 prisoners, 17 dead, 256 Fl confiscated

Battle of Morocco: 1101 killed, 0 prisoners, 139 dead
The Spanish tried to retake Morocco, sallying from the castle and launching strikes from Cordoba and Algeria. They scraped together over 2200 troops to our 1200. This was also the debut for our Feudal Knights. Perhaps desert is not the best place for them. Our Royal and Feudal Knights have Armor ratings of 8-10 so when they entered the map they were Very Tired and one charge Totally Exhausted them. All of our troops had Armor and Defense ratings of 6 or higher so everyone else got tired very quickly. Made for a boring battle as both sides limped towards each other and then fell over as soon as they met. I am going to have to build a few lighter troops to attack in the Desert.

Battle of Cordoba: 1725 Fl pillaged
A further 529 prisoners were taken when they couldn’t withdraw to Cordoba because I had attacked. They weren’t ransomed back.

1266
Busy turn. I tried to bribe Scotland but the general there is too loyal. He now wants nearly 7000 Fl for a few Spears, Hobilars and Archers. I can think of a better use for the 7000.
We invaded Serbia, Bohemia, Hungary and Valencia and stormed the Castle in Morocco. Not a good year to be a governor as after the battles I see scrolls in Swabia, Bavaria, Franconia, Normandy, Anjou, Leon, Cordoba and Antioch.

Castle of Morocco: 116 killed, 0 prisoners, 25 dead
I’m killing all Spanish prisoners to get rid of them on land. Their ships are another matter. One Barque in the Gulf of Valencia sank two Fire Galleys that were both 2 stars. I don’t get fleet battles at all.

Battle of Hungary: 3400 Fl pillaged
Hungary stupidly withdrew to the Castle from an only slightly larger force. Now they have 3 units of +1/+3 Chiv Knights along with 2 Halberdier units in there that are going to starve to death. They would have caused mayhem on the field

Battle of Serbia: 1300 Fl pillaged
Hungary abandoned the province.

Battle of Bohemia: 950 killed, 1540 prisoners, 461 dead, 1800 Fl pillaged.
This was a great behemoth of a battle, 2300 Vs 2800. As it turned out it was on a hilly map so I went with only a few Archers and Mtd X-bows to start and that was all I ever saw. After the first 16 our first 10 reinforcements were 6 II and 4 FMAA to try and catch the Hungarians Horse Archers and Mtd X-bows. For 30 minutes I had to endure constant peppering from afar until finally they ran out of arrows and bought on foot sloggers. Another 5 min and our Cav show up to finally lend a hand. Sometimes the reinforcement order makes me want to scream.

Battle of Valencia III: 645 killed, 0 prisoners, 372 dead
Third time lucky?!?. Another damn bridge battle that was very lopsided. Luckily there were 2 bridges this time. The second bridge was covered by 37 Jinettes who managed to kill 85 II and 38 Feudal Knights in MELEE. Lucky for us they didn’t have 2 Jinette units. The first bridge was plugged by 200 Peasants and they managed to dispatch 120 CMAA. 370 top class soldiers to defeat 800 basically peasants is atrocious. The prisoners were hung, drawn, quartered, crucified and then impaled. I then fed them Haggis just to make sure they were dead.

1267
England declares war by sinking a ship in the English Channel.
The Hungarians counterattack in Hungary and it’s not pleasant.
Feudal Knights come online in Genoa.

Battle of Hungary: 819 killed, 0 prisoners, 347 dead
Those Chiv Knights got to play after all and it wasn’t fun their stats under the 5 star were 8/10/10. They went straight through the II, 300 of our dead are II. Thankfully they didn’t have many support troops for them, just a couple of Mtd Sgts and 100 Chiv Sgts. The rest were Horse Archers and Peasants.
That should be the last hurrah of the Hungarians though.

1268
Feudal Knights in Sicily and Milan come online.
I decide to bribe the rebels in Portugal. This will free up some troops to head to England and gets us closer to 60%. Surprisingly both stacks agree even though both had revised value. This cost about 8000 Fl but we get an extra 2000 troops for immediate use.
I invade Greece, Bulgaria and Carpathia and our troops finish the sieges in Bohemia and Hungary. This leaves the King in Wallachia, he doesn’t have any Knights as companions but does have some Halberdiers and Arbalests. It also means we directly border the Horde in Constantinople.

Invasion of Carpathia: 1650 Fl pillaged
The Hungarians abandoned the province, which was easy as there was nobody there.

Invasion of Bulgaria: 1600 Fl pillaged
The Hungarians declined battle and retreated to the castle.

Battle of Greece: 584 killed, 0 prisoners, 297 dead, 1075 Fl pillaged
I sent the King into battle against the last of the Hungarian Knights. Why the AI chooses to build crap when they have highly upgraded Chiv Knights available I will never know but am thankful for it after this battle. Two units off II actually broke and ran after the initial clash of lines. The Chiv Knights killed 27 II in the first few seconds and that was enough after a V4 unit of Halberdiers killed 51 II in the unit next door, sending them packing. Thank god they have low morale and broke after they chased through my lines and got surrounded. The Knights took forever to kill, both Chiv and Royal. One group of Royals chased a Mtd X-bow unit for a full lap around the map at attack speed before cornering them. I have discovered lately that if I rout them just before the Knights hit they are captured instead of killed and I get them back after the battle, for free if I win.

1269
We must be getting close to 60%. Champagne revolted when it had a loyalty of 154%. Luckily we still have an army in Flanders that can deal with it. I have started creating some more suppression armies, most provinces already have a garrison of 400 troops, but I still had to drop a lot of tax rates even in provinces with full stacks.
The English Armada Barque again managed to sink 2 Firegalleys finally sunk by our third, only to be replaced. This is hampering the invasion of England as I can’t get any armies there except through Flanders, and that takes 4 turns.
I invaded Algeria and Tunisia to get rid of the Spanish and stormed Valencia castle and Portugal joined us.

Invasion of Tunisia: 3400 Fl
Spain abandoned the province

Assault on Valencia castle: 134 killed, 0 prisoners, 54 dead

Battle of Algeria: 250 killed, 838 prisoners, 148 dead, 1100 Fl pillaged, no ransom
The Last Stand of Spain. Easy once I drew their Royals with Mtd X-bows, then our Mtd Sgts had a field day chasing down 800 odd peasants and Urban Militia.

On a very high note, we will have Swiss Halberdiers(+2 Armour) in 6 turns and the regular type in 4 turns in Tyrolia. Looking closer shows that Bohemia can also make Feudal Knights.

Now aren't you glad I built all those facilities in Switzerland:p;). Now if you use the II as a screen, you can use the swiss pikemen for the killer blows (dare I say, against the Horde?). Also try to put in real i.e. non-peasant armies so they can fight off rebellions that can reach every square in a turn. That could help. Overall, lookin' good:goodjob:. *under breath* stupid English barques and their stupid friggin little.... *under breath*

1270
Feudal Knights come online in Navarre
There were a couple of clean up operations this year with castles to be stormed in Greece and Bulgaria and a rebellion to stop in Champagne.
Happily the Fleet finally kills the English ship so that the Channel is free and England is open for attack.

Castle of Greece: 12 killed, 2 prisoners, 17 dead, 3710 Fl ransom
Only 2 prisoners but one was their only heir, the other an Archer. Pretty good money for us.

Castle of Bulgaria: 53 killed, 28 prisoners, 51 dead, 2343 Fl ransom

Rebellion in Champagne: 830 killed, 478 prisoners, 243 dead, 3403 Fl confiscated
Costly rebellion to put down as the rebels were Italian Infantry under a 4 star. They heavily outnumbered us, but eventually our Royals were able to get behind them and cause havoc. Our general picked up Skilled Defender.

Flanders Invaded: 71 killed, 63 prisoners, 204 dead
England invaded Flanders while the bulk of the army was in Champagne putting down the rebellion. Once again Knights just rode straight through our II. Our 300 II outnumbered the English by 100 but were unable to put up even a decent showing. II hasn’t put up much of a showing against cav in this game, especially since it’s the strongest anti-cav in the game. The English King did lead the attack but he is only a 2 star so shouldn’t have made that much difference.

1271
The Pope emerges in Rome and Naples. He has 2500 rebels to fight in Rome and 2500 Italians in Naples. I think he’ll win in Rome, he has plenty of Chiv Knights against Spears and Arbalests. He only has Chiv Foot Knights against us and we have II, Pav Arbalests and Feudal Knights. I didn’t want to be at war with him when he re-emerged. I thought only provinces a faction had once held could join a re-emerging faction.
I counterattack in Flanders and invade Mercia and Wessex.
Spies come online in Ile de France.

Invasion of Mercia: 2775 Fl pillaged
England withdrew.

Invasion of Wessex: 2400 Fl pillaged
England abandoned the province.

Relief of Flanders: 182 killed, 103 prisoners, 54 dead
I got my revenge on the English monarch by spanking and capturing him in this battle. I also got Prince William. The English declined to ransom them back so they have a new King in Northumbria

1272
The Pope lost in Rome and in Naples so they are once again killed off. There was a lot of that this turn as the English, Spanish and Hungarians all died. That should have ended all our wars but it is not to be as the Byzantines start a war with us using the classic single sinking in the Eastern Med. This is doubly annoying as they were our major trading partners and so our income dropped from 16,000 to 8,000. I invade Wallachia and Mercia and storm the Castle in Algeria.

Castle of Algeria: 154 killed, 0 prisoners, 112 dead, End of the Spanish

Battle of Northumbria: 204 killed, 82 prisoners, 140 dead, 2475 Fl pillaged, no ransom, End of the English
The English King fell in the battle which is incredible as I watched a single Early Royal kill 26 V2 Feudals all by itself before succumbing.

Battle of Wallachia: 239 killed, 0 prisoners, 281 dead, End of the Hungarians
On top of old smokey sits 120 Pav X-bows, 78 Halberdiers and 41 Royal Knights all with the Silver shield. Thank god they couldn’t make any more troops, they simply slaughtered us until the King was killed by a Mtd X-bow. I thought our 4 star was going to be killed by their Jedi’s but he alone escaped out of his unit of Royals. I feel lucky to have won this one. Attacking uphill against good troops is no fun.

Battle of Naples: 740 killed, 0 prisoners, 278 dead
I love Pavise Arbalests they carried the day here. Our II once again proved unworthy against Knights with two units running away. I have to question the AI over a few things in this battle, like how V2 Mtd X-bows lost to V0 Archers in melee. We lost 2 units against 2 units of Archers, one killed 24, the other 34 before the Archers routed them???? F1 showed the Mtd X-bows as 2/5/4 against –1/-2/1 Archers. Not happy Jan. I guess they used all their luck on a unit of Royals. They cut down 19 in two volleys, the best I have ever seen missile units do.

1273
The castles in Northumbria and Mercia fall to us and I bribe the garrison of the Citadel in Wallachia to save our troops lives. We will be able to build Chiv Knights in 8 years in Wallachia. Pretty happy Jan.
Its one step forward, one step back as I invade Lithuania but the Byzantines invade Antioch.
We lose 4 more fleet battles.

Battle of Lithuania: 457 killed, 128 prisoners, 264 dead, 693 Fl ransom, 100 Fl pillaged
All the Byz heirs had been appearing here which is why I decided to take it.

Antioch invaded: 689 killed, 0 prisoners, 706 dead
Seems they killed our fleet for a reason. I almost pulled it off but I couldn’t stop the Varangians. Damn they are tough.

1274
The Byzantines just up and leave Antioch so we regain control.
I managed to kill the Byzantine fleets in the Straits of Sicily and the Mirtoon Sea so we have our sea lanes back and happiness returns to normal. I thought I had bribed the Welsh but I guess not.
A quiet year for a change and my last as the Italian Doge dies.

Notes
The Turkish Sultan died this turn also and his forces in Anatolia and Nicea have become rebels. There are a lot and they are quite good, it might pay to bribe them and use them against the Byzantines as we have no direct access to their territory. Armies have to be dropped in Cyrenacia and walked across. I have a fleet gathering in the Ionian to sweep the seas so we can get to the ME.
There are plenty of troops in Spain now available after Ports built in Cordoba and Valencia. Same with England as soon as some garrison troops can be built. There are just plenty of troops.
Have a look around, we can build II, Feudal Knights and CMAA in about a dozen places. Halbardiers are being built in Tyrolia and Wallachia.
The only things to watch is loyalty and our governors. Loyalty plummets badly when the King is cut off hence all the interior troops. Our governors are really bad now, have a look at all the Scrolls on the map.

Save

Enjoy.

Who's next? We should be nearing 60% so we should start thinking about the next game. How about Russians in High? That should be a challenge.

Now that the patch is out I have gone and bought Viking Invasion, so I will be trying that out for a while. I won't be playing the next v1.1 game unless you want to play MedMod v1.85.

Have a look at Wes' Mod Site to see what it is all about. It dramatically improves the game.

Has anyone picked this up yet? I think Dell19 is next. If not then grab it and finish it off Alex.

I'm still a little too busy to play as I ideally want to do quite a bit of coursework over the next two days so I could probably play when it comes back round to me.

yeah make another thread.
