Multiplayer; Best method?

I'd like to play a game of FFH with my buddy over the internet, and I was just wondering what the best method currently was. My current plan is to use hamchi; should I choose the LAN or Direct IP connection? Are there options I should choose or avoid? Any tips or pointers towards good info would be appreciated.
