Civilization V is CRIPPLED/BROKEN multiplayer-wise.

EMBARRASING! Shame on you Sid and FIRAXIS!

I tried litterally at least 50 times to join a game on internet, and have had NO multiplayer games yet!

Can play only through steam invites - and this is THE ONLY way you can play. Thats it. No other way you can play Internet OR Lan.

1. My friend cannot see any game i host on internet - but can see other Internet games(?) (firewall allowed)!
2. I cannot see any game hosted by him on internet - but can see Internet games(?) (firewall allowed)!
3. When loading a game (from autosave!?) - ALL others can join - and do so = lame.
4. Cannot make password protected games = lame.
5. Cannot kick an ai - that enters when when a player leaves = lame.
6. Cannot limit the number of players in a game - must manually kick excess players = lame.
7. Lobby freezes before a game launch.
8. Cannot move units when game actually starts = lame.
9. AI is so bad that you will loose if teamed up with one = useless.
10. 90% of people hosting games are AFK because games are difficult to set up.
11. Cannot join 9/10 games listed on the avaiable games. "Retrieving host information" displayed forever = lame.
12. Cannot see full changes to game settings other than most basic.
13. Cannot save games - only autosave. Which means you can only play ONE game at a time = fail!

In my experience of working with the steam API, most of those are either limitations of the steam library or bugs in it. And steam doesn't work very well with quite a lot of firewalls and anti-virus, regardless of what settings you use.

But some of the others are however things that can be fixed, and mostly look like simple oversights (such as too many players being able to join a lobby - you can limit the number of people allowed to enter in the API call to create the lobby).

If you get this worked up over a game, maybe it's time to re-evaluate a thing or two?
Might help you in the end.
