Multiplayer game crashes as the game is starting?

Just as everyone has ready'ed up, and the host starts the game, countdown goes down, and "configuring game files" goes up, my game crashes, this happens in every multiplayer game, though am able to rejoin the game after.

Anyone else having a problem similar to this?


Edit: Did a "Verify integrity" on the game, and that may have fixed the problem, downloaded 8.6MB.

The same exact thing is happening to me, but the wierd thing is, if i join a random game with random people it works...but as soon as i try to play a game with friends is crashes as soon as the game is about to begin...

Edit: Verify integrity worked for me too

Edit 2: It worked for one day then it started to happen again...

I had this exact issue, verify integrity didn't work, neither did the vc redistributables, directX, etc.

What helped(at least until now) was disabling the DLC in Steam. You might wanna give that a try.

Thank you man, I will deffinatly try that I've tried to reinstall the game and made sure to delete every file but that didn't work either så fingers crossed for this one

The situation over here was that we were able to play a 3 player match no problems. After that we tried it with 6 players where one of us didn't have the DLC. Disabling the DLC in the in-game options didn't work(the box was unchecked on host's PC but checked for everyone else).

We tried pretty much everything and furthest we came was that 4-5 of us were able to join and the ones whose game crashed could join on Turn 2. So they missed their first turn. Not terrible but not great either.

Today we gave disabling the DLC in Steam a shot and had 0 problems. No idea if it was the solution or not, but people might as well add that to the list of stuff they try.

I disabled the dlc, and in my case I was the only one with it. This time it went right to the loading screen instead of "Configuring game settings" or whatever popped up before. So it worked perfectly Thank you for the tip
