Hi! I have started a private multiplayer (BtS) game with a friend of mine on the Gamespy server, but for no known reason, it didn't have the game password I gave. We didn't think it was a problem, but recently a lot of people try to join our game (since Take over AI is also active), and we have to ask them one by one, to leave, as we would play by ourselves.

Do you know any way to add a password to a game after you already started it? It would help us a lot enjoying the game...
Thx!

If you create a game in the lobby, the game should have a pop up to ask for a password.
Its not possible to put up a pw inside a game.

One thing you may try is to set up a direct ip game.

That's not an option due to router problems. Thanks anyway, we managed to live with it...

Will that work after you've already played the game and then reload it to play again?

My brother and I are having the same problem: we finished our last game and started a new one today. We thought we set everything up the same way, but now people are joining not only the staging room but the game after it's in progress.

We started logging into the Gamespy lobby since we had trouble getting the Direct IP connection to work. So every time we'd play we'd start by both logging in. I would load the latest save file. Then the screen listing two of the seven civs (the two were the player civs, and all the AI civs wouldn't show up) would pop up and I would select my own. Since I'd originally entered a password for my civ, I'd have to input that before proceeding; so I would. Then I'd be in the Staging Room (SR). Once my brother would show up in his slot and X the ready box, I'd hit Launch and off we'd go. Never once did anyone else show up in the room, nor did anyone ever enter the game once in progress.

Then tonight, we first knew there was a problem when people would enter the SR and want to play. We'd have to ask them all to leave before continuing. And even though I had all the extra slots marked as AI (the last slot being Closed) players would pop into one of the AI slots. Once they left, the slot reverted--not to AI--but to Open. Highly annoying. Then after we started playing, at least one fellow joined our game and we had to ask him to leave.

So, my question is simply, how do I get our game back to how it used to be?

Thanks for your help,
Poocho :)
