2v2 games seem to have had a resurgence of late (there's typically always a 2v2 game in the lobby), and people seem to be favoring West vs East (two pieces of land divided by water down the middle). Most people view this map as a "rush to frigates" but after being inspired by a couple of games I have played with Ashtaar007, I wanted to see if I could rush before then.
As you all know, a typical game of Civ can take 5+ hours to play. I only had an hour or so to spare last night, so I challenged myself to see if I could win a game in under an hour.
I make a lot of mistakes in this video (it was late at night), but I figured I may as well post it so people can learn
So did I succeed? Was it under an hour? Watch and find out!

Spoiler :
27 mins - Turn 44, take out Germany. Run down and take out Celts on turn 51 / 35 mins. A good opponent would probably have been watching the demographics screen and noticed my troops and prepared accordingly. Though I think the rush would be very hard to stop if i had co-ordinated my rush with a good team mate, unless our opponents had good mobility between their cities.
Morale of the story - just because your opponent isn't on your island right now, doesn't mean he won't be soon!
