Multiplayer Mods?

So, me and a few buddies like to play Civ4 (BTS) on a home LAN. My question is simple, are there any mods that will work with multiplayer? (On a LAN that is).
 
I -think- you can just load up a mod using the advanced options menu, and then choose multiplayer.
 
I don't know for sure, having never tried this myself, but I think not all mods work with Multiplayer right out of the box. I know Rhyes & Fall of Civ had to create a seperate multiplayer version (link to RFC subforum here). Anyway, good hunting :)

Thx for the linkI ll check that one out. Mainly looking for a mod that expands the game without overexpanding lol. More units, techs, longer game but not going too overboard into stuff that just doesnt work........yeah i know, sounds like i want a whole new game lol.

I have played things like Extra Mod successfully in the past and I'm currently playing VDRN and HiM but I'm not sure if those work in multiplayer. Is there any central location (thread) to find the status of multiplayer'able mods? ... rather then searching through each individual mods.

Yeah, this would be nice ta have.
 
Personally I'm a big fan of the Wolfshanze mod as it leaves the tech tree alone for the most part, and adds a lot of flavor to combat with the added naval and armored units. I haven't played MP yet though, so I'm not sure if it would work there... If it does though, it would probably be one of your best bets for a mod to make warfare more interesting without diverging too much from standard game play.
