Could someone who has played multiplayer Civ in the past explain a few things to me? There are some problems as I see it ...
How is combat resolved in hotseat or PBEM mode? When I receive a new turn and someone has attacked me, how do I see the results? For that matter how are turns processed? Are they resolved in sequence, one civ after another, or all at once like in Stars! What about trading? Do I offer something on my turn, then wait until the next turn to see if it was accepted/rejected/countered? In simultaneous, I imagine there would be a real time chat function to facilitate trading, military planning, etc, but in turn based, it could take forever.
How is movement resolved in simultaneous mode? What happens when two different civs try to send a unit to the same, unoccupied square? Does the first to click get there and the other doesn't? Does the first to click attack the second? What if I try to attack a unit but that unit moves? Do I keep chasing it around until I manage to click first or anticipate the move?
Am I making things too complicated or am I simply clueless?
