I don't know of a mod that does this, but there is a reasonably simple way around this; simply go into your ...\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Assets\Sounds\Soundtrack directory, where you will find the soundtrack for the game (separated by era). Then, using whatever music player you'd like, create playlists by era (they're already divided like this), and then you can easily switch playlists once you've reached the appropriate era. By the way, the ...\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Assets\Sounds\Soundtrack also has some good songs, so you can incorporate them as well (and I'm guessing the same is true of the Warlords directory too). The only "snag" you might run into is the diplomacy music interfering with your regular music (when you talk to someone), but I can easily overcome that problem because my keyboard has a pause/play button, so that's a workaround there. Hope that helps, because I doubt there's a mod for this.
