I don't really like the music in civ so is there any music you recommend me listening to while playing civ?

i often just turn on my music player (windows media player) and listen to my playlist... it consists of basically 2 types of music (although COMPLETELY different), classical, and classic rock.... i got Beethoven and Lisst, then Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and a little bit of Supertramp...
others i would suggest RATATAT (good, because most songs don't have lyrics, so it doesn't overwhelm Civ), The Residents (they are a very... ummm... different band group... not many people know of them, but i really like em), Deltron 3030, The White Stripes, Queen, The Who, DEVO, Interpol.... they all are good

I don't know. That's why I'm asking. I don't know of much music that goes with civ well. Does anyone know of a 4x game that has good music?

I actually like the music in Civ3, I like it a lot better than the Civ4 music anyway.
I've heard some very old Civ2 players insist upon hearing march music while playing Civ. I suppose I can see why... Maybe you could try that!

Instramental 'epic' peices are nice. Try movies like Bravehaert,, First Night, T2,Last of Mochican, etc. THen throw in some classic orch peices with various other ethnic beats aswell, to flow with the cultual mood of course

Or you could try the CAMELOT! scenario by Azmorg http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=170763 which also has a very good soundtrack. You can get it off of 3D Downloads http://www.3ddownloads.com/Strategy/Civilization%203/Mods/Camelot//build.rar.
