So, after taking a very long break from playing, i've gotten back into Civ. I think the last time i played was when that last patch came out. For some reason though, as i'm playing agian, my game crashes very frequently even early in the game. I play using the lowest graphic quality, and i remember i used to be able to play large maps with some lag, but playable over all. Now i can't play a standard map without crashing every 10-20 minutes or so. If its on full screen, when the game crashes, the screen goes black and sometimes the monitor acts as if its not connected to the computor (saying that its in "powersaving mode" and usually all i can do is just restart it) I don't know what happened! at first i figured it was issues with whatever mods i was playing, but the problem occusr even when playing regular BtS. Its really confusing.
I updated my video card's driver, but it didn't seemed to help at all. I also tried deleting mods/files i don't use, scanning for and getting rid of some viruses i found, but nothing seems to help the issue. I don't understand why my computor would have issues playing a game that it was capable of playing before. Especially since games like the Sims 2, Medieval II: Total War and Age of Empires III run fine. I figure is should try to reinstall, but i don't have the disks with me, so i can't do that at the moment, although i'll certainly try if neccesary. I've attached a dxdiag. Any ideas?
