Thor Macklin
Warlord
Welll as most of you know, I make scenarios for civ 5.
With that in mind I also happen to be utterly inept when it comes
to modding. So I downloaded the mod buddy, didn't like it. So I uninstalled
it and visual studios.
During that time I had made a scenario for 1492, (as I hold abit of disdain
for random maps and didn't like the current one.) But when I tried to load
it it wouldn't even go into the loading screen. So I restarted my comp. Then
tried again. This time I was able to shrink it enough so that I could see a tab
called 'visual studios update!' I clicked it, and the game closed.
By this time I was pretty ticked. So I went into Worldbuilder and removed anything
that could possibly cause a problem. STILL didn't work. So I trashed it and made
a 1500 AD scenario (I figured maybe the date was incompatible with the turns passed.)
For a bit it worked. But after adding in abit more I encountered the EXACT same
issue and had to trash this scenario. And oddly enough, ALL my other scenarios
STILL work perfectly! Finally I came to the conclusion that I had added too much
to the game, but my 120 AD scenario had probably 4 times the amount of data
in it then this scenario, so I trashed the idea.
I came up with several possible causes:
1. I incorrectly uninstalled visual studios and mod buddy and left a still functioning
visual studios program that wants to update.
2. The Spain and Inca DlC is causing it.
3. I botched up my game somehow and will need to uninstall it.
4. I botched up SDK and will need to uninstall it.
I will appreciate any help I can get! Also I do not believe this to be a computer
compatibility issue, nor a graphic problem. The issue ONLY seems to apply with
scenarios created after my downloading mod buddy, or ones that include spain
and the incas. Though my world map which I use to base my scenarios includes
the spain and incas and Still works fine.
