My only wish for Civ VII

I truly don't get where people have created this notion that Civ is some super-serious history simulator

It's the nationalism. People see their own countries in the game, or even the possibility of their own countries being the game, and make all kinds of assumption of what the game is supposed to be like

Civilization has never been historical, let alone historically accurate. In fact, any attempt at reading Civ through a historical lens makes it infinitely worse.

I just want it to fit the gameplay.
