Considering how op they are, I'm really frustrated by this. :( I tried to be really friendly to the aliens, but it seemed they still kept running over my convoys. Or maybe it's my convoys kept running into them. ::mad: Apparently trade units follow a linear path, so they don't avoid aliens and enemies. :(

Before the "reverse polarity" quest choice kicks in, the only way to stop aliens do that is parking your units all along the trade route path.

The only sure way to "de-bug" your trade routes is to research Ecology (a quick tier 1 tech), build an Ultrasonic Fence in your capital, and, when you're given the building quest option, choose "reverse the polarity." That will make all your trade vessels immune to alien attacks.

Definitely build an ultrasonic fence as quickly as possible. Then, you will get a quest with it. Pick "reverse the polarity" which automatically protects trade units from aliens. You can then send and forget because your trade units will never be attacked by the alien units.

Before you have the immunity you should trade with very close stations/cities so that you can make sure there are no aliens blocking the path. A miasma repulsor can be useful since your trade convoys can't walk through miasma so you can shorten the path having less to protect with units.

Oh thanks! Gonna try that. :D
I don't build it since I like aliens, but I guess I'm gonna build it now. :d

Aliens will also get upset if you get too close to a nest (3 tiles, I think?), so you want to avoid creating trade routes that will pass near them.
