Ok last game I played as Bannor. I kicked EVERYONES ass, hell my nearest rival was maybe 1/3 my size. So here I am invading and destroying everything in my path setting myself up for a domination victory when out of knowhere I get the message that my goddamb vassal Hippus lead by Rhoanna won a cultural victory. WTH I felt completely robbed. If I had any warning this was going to happen I would have invaded Hippus long ago..... anyway Im just pissed:mad::mad::mad:

Mad,

If you check the victory conditions screen, it will tell you each player closest to winning under those conditions. It should show who is closest to a culture victory and how close they are.

Best wishes,

Breunor

isn't there a message anytime a city reaches legendary culture?

can't you make unreasonable demands on your vassals which they will reject, causing war? or at least you could use a war causing spell on them, if any are left.

I almost never allow any victory but conquest. If you allow other victory conditions you should be prepared to accept such consequences.

you can't get rid of your vassal anyhow

Not true!

Thats how it is in vanilla BtS, but in FfH you can cast a spell (any of those with <bCausesWar>1</bCausesWar>, that is: Ring of Flames, Rage, Enervation, Earthquake, Contagion, Scorch, Spores, Steal, Tsunami, Wither, Hastur's Razor, or Kidnap) to declare war on a vassal. The you can wipe them out just like anyone else.

First someone complained that an AI won a religious (?!) victory, and now a VASSAL won a cultural victory. And then there are people that complain about poor AI? Hello, these are hard victories to achieve even for a human player!!!!

Agreed! I think it is great that a vassal can pull that kind of thing off. You always have to watch out for the quiet ones. :mischief: Gaining the passive victories while hiding behind your protector is brilliant.

Also, nice work around, MC. Sometimes those vassals can be so uppity.
