Do any of you play this mod for R:TW? Have you heard of it?
If not, it's a great mod that places you in the early 1800s and in command of infantry, artillery and cavalry.
There is no campaign, and since it is Rome, no sea battles like E:TW, but for those who cannot run E:TW or afford it, this is an excellent alternative.
Morale is everything in N:TW. Musket fire from long range does not do much damage to a unit's numbers or morale, but cavalry charges, bayonet charges and short-range fire go a long way towards winning a battle. Beware of being flanked, even by a skirmisher unit, as being shot in the back does not do much for your men's morale either.
I highly recommend you try it. I would provide you with a link but the site is down ATM, so just google "napoleon 2 total war download" if you want to try it and it should work.
