I was born in Brazil (from Italian, Portuguese, French and Native American grandparents) but I'm 100% Canadian. Despite living semi-permanently in Japan.
I hate having to explain that to the Japanese! Japan is so homogeneous that most people have difficulty understanding how I can be Canadian if I wasn't born there.

I don't recall exactly my descents, but I think my grandpa's mother was from England. Aarg it's too confusing. I was born in London, Ontario, and I'm living in Hamilton right now. It was 23 degrees, but was just snowing a couple of days ago.

Me? I'm a Singaporean of Indian and Chinese descent. Don't know when my ancestors came here, but I must be at least 4th or 5th Generation.

Notice that not many people admit to being English. I suppose being English is by definition being of mixed race we were conquered that many time that we have a whole host of bloods running through our veins.
How do you foreigners perceive us English? I sometimes get the feeling that we are as disliked as any nation can get.
I wouldn't expect such liberal minded persons such as yourselves to be like this though.

Yeah, these Scandinavians really love their civ don't they? I don't recall seeing many Germans and French on here maybe it's the language thing Scandanavians are notoriously good English speakers which always helps I suppose.

My family heritage is Polish. But I'm anAMERICAN!!!!!!!! I think that a lot of people in this country need to take some time & really think about what being an American really means! Too many people seem to think that because of s**t that went down 100 to 200 years ago, means that they deserve a free ride. I realize that by saying this I'm opening a can of worms. But I feel very strongly about it.
When is this country going to wake up & realize how great it could be if we really started working together!?!?

I believe that every informed person in America does want to work together to form a more efficient government, but the government as a whole has been working against it's own interest. Instead of being a reliable, proficient government, we find barriers of red tape and laws that clog the system because the government is trying to be something it's not. Furthermore, if you think your living in a democracy wake up because the facts represent us as being a republic.
