Chieftain
Several years ago I purchased a Civ 2 CD after having used Civ1 for many years before that. It is the version that you play by yourself and don't connect to the Internet. After I installed it, I couldn't get it to open to the cities. (Example: You build Washington. Then you want to get into Washington to tell it to build a marketplace. Washington won't open to allow me to execute that order.) I thought I had just bought a CD that had a corrupted file. A kind person either sent me a file that I needed to fix the problem or maybe told me to copy some file I had having to do with the map? , but he got it working for me.
Alas, my hard drive died. I reinstalled the original CD with the same bad result. I bought a new Civ2 CD and had the same bad result again.
I am using WindowsXP edition3 and running Civ in compatibility with Win 95. I am obviously a Civ 2 fanatic.
Can anybody please help me?
