Need advice on modding

How do you edit a map(mod) so I can takeaway or add the civs that start on "legendary earth map (DLC)". I just downloaded the SDK and would appreciate any advice.

I tried to take away the civs in the scenario edior but the map doesnt show up when i load civ. I changed the name of the file from the original.
