Need Help *cry*

ok one at time then.

go back to the device manager click on one of the cd drives with the yellow !

preferably the burner first. remove it and reboot.

see if plug and play will pick it back up when computer restarts.

one only not both.

ok done, it had me restart again because it installed a new device. Still no drives though.

Hit control alt delete and list the programs running now.

under applications all that is running is my browser... under processes there is a ton

ok reboot the computer on startup hold the f8 key down on the windows screen when the menu comes up use last known good configuration.

Didn't work.

oh great:(

back to device manager and uninstall both drives.

on reboot hold down the delete key

Bios should come up

under standard cmos settings you should have your drives listed hard and cd s and floppys

enable the cd/dvd drives if they are not save and start the computer.

Do you have a boot floppy disk?

Kill that for right now

Go back to f8 on start up and select limited start with cd rom support.

See if it will recognize your 2000 cd

Start in safe mode and check the cd that way.

Take a blank floppy disk put it in the drive and format the floppy. right click on the my computer icon hit explore. highlight the a drive(floppy) right click on it format the disk as ms dos startup. reboot and see it that will work with the cd
