Ok, so I started playing Fall from Heaven today. I had heard of this mod often already, but a friend finally convinced me to try it out especially since I love fantasy genre's.

My civilization skill level is normally immortal+, so I could not refrain myself from trying it out in this mod too.

This being said, I am now at turn 420 on epic standard map, and I got 17 cities. Normally in civ I would have won by now, but I am at a loss how to proceed in this game, let alone if I stand favourably in the game.
Any tips/advice on how, what and where I should be focusing on from now to actually win the game would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
I attached the save to the post

I was not able to load your game with base FfH2 0.41j. You may get more takers if you state what version of the mod you are playing, and if you are using any modmods.

Ah yes, that might be an issue indeed.

I got the latest BUG mod installed currently on my civ BTS, which I think also has an impact on fall from heaven?

For the FFH version, I got the latest one :)

Well, I couldn't take a look at the save (I didn't have time, I don't know if it works or not), but here's a few things you might need to do:

1.) Focus on elite units. If you hadn't done this already, lategame wars will be very long and tedius, especially given the AI's unitproduction and xp bonus. One Combat V and Drill IV unit goes a looong way. If you need good units, declare on a weak neighbor and get into a few fights. Border skirmishes are preffered here as your goal would be to build up a solid core of elite units, without taking many losses yourself. Note: If you playing as the Luchuirp (always misspell that name), you do not get living units that can promote, and you MUST promote your hero Barnaxus down the Combat line to buff your golems.

2.) Obtain some heroes. Without heroes, you're going to need alot more elite units. What religion are you? If you're Runes of Kilmorph (the thematically appropriate choice for the dwarves), the religion specific heroes Bambur and Arthendain(sp?), are not heavy hitters, and are best in the early game. Arthendain works great though escorting invasion stacks, since he can launch powerful defensive strikes. Promote him down the Drill line to increase the damage of the defensive strikes. Blitz is also necessary in order to launch multiple strikes per turn.

3.) Techs. There is no necessary progression of techs you need to pursue. The vital economic techs are all mid-tier, and require little specialization. Markets and Libraries, combined with specialists or cottages, are enough to fuel most economies. Pick a tech path to follow, and just keep going down it. The melee path is a must for both dwarf nations however.

As for victory, I'd personally go for conquest. It's the easiest to get, especially on Epic speed. Keep in mind though, if you're the Khazad, you need to keep at least 500 gold per city you capture in order to retain the vault bonus in each.

You should really try to learn the game mechanics on monarch (or even emperor) before you move up to immortal. Running a quick game will expose you to the tech tree, how the economy works, what resources are important for what, etc., and because it's quick, it won't take you as long to see the different results of your actions.

FfH is quite different from BtS, and you'll likely play through several games before you have a good grasp of everything thats going on. It can prove quite useful to research the forums first for any particular questions you might have.

Well, I am only a emperor level player in BTS, so I guess you are better than me in many ways, however about FFH unique features, I can give you some advices.

First, you can easily achieve altar victory, since your alignment is neutral you can build altars.(Good or Neutral can build those) All you have to do is to get several Great prophets(and one Great Engineer for last altar to save turns). Once AI summoned Basium(Mercurian), AI can beat a well played human player in score, I guess this is because Mercurian civ is not a vassal. Mercurian and AI summoned it are one team. Conquest or Domination victoris might be hard considering the map and the dipomatic situation.

Secondly, as we do in BTS singleplaygame, you should learn AI leader personalities and unique features like AI alignments. I checked you are building a caravel, so I assume you will soon meet orcs and vampires. Unfortunately, orcs are following Order which make them Good not Evil and vampires following ROK are neutral not evil. so i guess this is really bad for you. Luchurip will easily conquer them with mercurians, however, in this game vampire or orcs can become vassals of Luchurip willingly. If Luchurip attack one of those, and all the defensive pacts canceled, you can consider to attack Grigori or Elohim for strategic reasons. This may will lead to another victory possiblities(to conquest one of thoes or capitulate one of those will make you top dog again in score) And religious victory is an option, too since ROK is a dominant religion.

Also, you might want your research rate down to 0 % for several turns for your dwarven vault. IMHO, as Khazad, you need to be "Abundant" status around 150~200turns.(Normal speed) You will get 3:), 40% production bonus and GP rate bonus.
This can change everything, so as Khzad I am very careful when hurry production with golds, but don't worry once you reached "abundant" you can hurry with golds very often. I know it is very hard to expand well and research well on immortal or deity level due to maintainace costs and ai bonuses and so on, however, I think Khazad players should save some gold from the beginning. We can’t be abundant very early, but at least avoiding "Low" or "Empty" is very helpful.

Finally, I suggest other map types for next plays. Erebus script is really helpful for FFH beginners. Also Pangaea or Terra works well. Until you get used to playing this mod, avoiding Fractal would be a good idea(yeah this script is fun! when I play BTS, playing on Fractal a lot ). since you are new to this mod you might need extra informations like certain map types. Also normal speed( 690 turns! compare to BTS , FFH normal almost feel like epic speed!!). Oh and enjoy the official scenarios.! You can learn many feature from them.

Anyway you are a good civ player, you have 15 cities compare to 10cities of Luchurip/Mercurian. You already destroyed one civ and have a room for two new cities, I guess.
I am pretty sure you win this game easily(oh i noticed this one is on epic speed so don' worry about time, you can achieve any victory you want on this speed. I don't rember # of turns FFH epic speed)
