I am trying to unsuccessfully make a larger size map.

I am currently trying to change the grid size w x h for Civ 4 BTS "Civ4worldinfo.xml" file.

But, try as I might, it won't change the size. It will only change the "default players" if that.

I inserted 65 for the width and 44 for the height.

Maybe, there is a maximum size. I am sure that my computer can handle it (i7 920, 9GB DDR3 RAM).

But, is there a maximum size?

Can anybody help me?

Or can somebody simply send me a download link for that larger map size of 65 x 44 grid size?

I only want to change the size. Everything else with Civ4 BTS should stay the same.

I would appreciate anybody's help. I have tried hours to do this, to no avail.

Please help me.

Is there a particular map you are trying to make larger? Or do you want all "standard" sized random maps to be larger? It sounds to me like you want a blank canvas of a certain size. Is that correct?

The "lakes" map that I can choose in regular BTS.

I wantn to make that larger to 65 x 44 grid size.

Not a blank canvas.

I found theh solution.

There was a "restriction" placed under the "lake.py" map type.

Even when I changed the map size under "Civ4worldinfo.xml", that is not enough.

I needed to also change it under "lake.py".

That solved the problem, though I must say, that after turn 130, the game is slow.

It takes about 50 seconds to change turns for 50 players, under a map size of 50 x 33 (that is 200 x 132 tiles).

But, I can always read a book between turns hehehe.
