Hello all,
I've tried to create a Unique Unit for the Dutch Modpack...
This unit is called VOC Galleon and is a standard Galleon, but is cheaper to build, carries 1 extra unit and is 1 move faster than the normal Galleon.
Because I'm no good with graphics I created a new directory inside the /art/units/ directory called VOC Galleon and copied the files from the /art/units/Galleon/ directory in it...
I renamed the files (added VOC in front), and edited the configuration file.
In the normal Civ III editor (not the hacked one), I renamed the Bowmen (I replaced the Babylonions in this Mod) to VOC Galleon, copied the stats from the Galleon, but with the special abilities of course. I then made the Archer available for all civs, including The Netherlands.
I also made a civilopedia entry and saved the files.
Because I didn't want to play a whole game to discover Magnetism first, I removed the prerequisite so I could build it immediately...
I started a new game, move my settler to the shore and founded Amsterdam... I noticed the city was trying to build VOC Galleon, but the game crashed before I got in the city screen.
Apparently I'm doing something wrong... is there anyone who figured out how to make unique units yet?
