I bought this game a while back and enjoyed it for a long time. Eventually I wanted to create new civilizations to play with, which is a MAJOR reason why I bought the game in the first place. I came to the sad conclusion that the editor SUCKS. The most trivial alteration would cause the game to crash. I couldn't even ADD new civilizations as it turned out I could only REPLACE the default ones. Finally, without even any multiplayer support to keep me interested, I got bored and gave my copy to a friend.
Now I hear that an expansion is coming out that promises to fix all these things that should have been functional in the original along with a few new features.
I have 2 questions.
First, has the editor been patched up yet? Can I use the editor to add new civilizations with relative ease?
Second, if the editor still SUCKS, is the expansion GUARANTEED to fix the editor? Or are infogrames, firaxis, and every single review about Civ3 going to SCREW ME OVER again by not mentioning that the editor SUCKS.
This post will probably seem stupid if the editor has been fixed. I didn't know how pissed off I was about the editor till I started typing this. Well now it's out of my system.
