Wishing I Was Here
Hey y'all! :D

I just got C3C and I have a question. What's the deal with the new traits? What does seafaring DO? I'm sure that this question has been asked before, but the search is busted and I can't find it. :p Help me! ;) Thanks!

Agricultural - extra food in city if on river. Extra food on desert squares. Certain improvements (aquaducts, recycle plants, and others) half price

Sea faring - Ships get +1 move. Half price on harbors, offshore platforms, less chance of sinking at sea...like a 90% chance of starting next to a coast.

some other details, but I forgot them off the top of my head.

Having the seafaring trait means a few things, here they are as best as I can recall.

1 - You are highly likely (~90%) to start on the coast
2 - Your ships gain an extra point of movement
3 - Your ships are less likely to sink in seas & oceans
4 - Every city on the coast gets an extra trade unit in the city square
5 - You get a 50% discount on harbors, commercial docks, offshore platform, coastal defense (not sure on the last one)
6 - You start with alphabet, which enables you to build the curragh for early sea exploration

Seafaring:

+1 movement to ships
Less likely to sink in sea (galleys, caravels)
Always start on coastal location
+1 commerce in city square if city is on water

Agricultural:

+1 food in city sqaure (I think)
Cheaper (non granery?) agricultural improvements (recycling plant, solar plant, etc.)
Despotism penalty non-valid for city sqaure

I probably forgot something, so if anyone can fill my gaps...

1 - You are highly likely (~90%) to start on the coast

Well, I heard that it overides pre-set starting locations (Spain will start on coast, with pre-set starting locations, so it will switch with some (non-seafaring) civ that does. So, I'd say it is ~100%.

I think it is 100%, because I started playing as the Byzantines last night and I was on the coast. Not only the coast, but it was practically the tip of an island!
