New buildings? Help a vanilla player.

I was kind of surprised when militia walked into my territory, and irked when Jungle took 3 movement points. But now I really need to know: what does the internet do, and what do the the port of entries do? Does Democracy also have the 2gp-turn support for units that republic does? Are there any other government changes?

And is there anything else I need to know?

I do know about that some units have lethal bombardment, about the archer changes, and that marines are different.

Edit: I did try too look through the wonder and building lists on this website, and I browsed the reference thread.

In replublic, the cost per unit is two, but you get free unit support of 1 / 3 / 4 per town / city / metro. Democracy has 1 gold / unit, but no free units.

The internet works like the one in PTW -> it gives you a research lab in every city on the continent.

Port of entry is like the commercial dock in PTW - it gives 50% extra tax in the given city. However, to build a second one you need 5 harbours. A third requires 8 harbours and a fourth requires 12.

You can also build a civil defence, which gives you 50% defensive bonus, and a stock exchange which gives +50% tax output. :)

Aside from the unit changes (which you seem to have read about), they're the main ones. :)
