We plan to build many new cities, and new cities need new names. I'm struggling to come up with new ones.

Please make some suggestions - anything you like! Otherwise I shall pick names from the books I'm currently reading (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Trowel and Error, by Alan Titchmarsh:D)

For the island above "Addict" : Zyx
Then, for the others
Zaamatten,
Yaroslav,
Xanana,
Wirh (means "wine" in alsacian),
Vanilla,
Ura-Tyube,
Tsilaosa,
Sozinho (means "alone" in portuguese),
Réunion or Ras-Tafari,
Quobalt or Quito,
Ptala,
Oldsheim,
Neto,
Mafate or Mahé,
Lysène or Ludan,
Kervéguen or Kerguélen,
Jura,
Iriduim,
Sainte-Hélène,
Gröenland,
Feldwasser,
Eliac,
Doriac,
Carlsten,
Buyuk-Tureng,
Amarin or St-Adriaan or Altkirch

I still like the welsh names I proposed ages ago...

*Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant
*Llangammarch Wells
*Llanfairpwllgwyngyll
+Beddgelert
Blaenau Ffestiniog
Morfa Nefyn
Pontypool
Deeside
Colwyn Bay
Connah's Quay
Tal-y-bont
Waunarlwydd

* Apart from the L-ones (a bit too long) they sound really good to me.

Fellow Welshies, let us impose those names on the non-Welshies!

I see most people has had a city named after them, and wonder if I could have a city named after my hometown?
That'd be: Trollhättan (allright to spell trollhattan)
I have some other names for Scandinavia, if we're going to follow the theme with scandinavian names in Scandinavia:
Visby (Trading center on the island Gotland)
Miklagård (Viking name for Konstantinopel or Istanbul)
Reric
Hedeby
Ribe
Skiringsal

How about:

Mayene
Illian
Tear
Andor
Camelyn
Cairhien
Manetherin
Amador
Tanchico
Ebor Dar
Fal Moran
Fal Dara

Dell19, how nice to hear from you!

Funxus gets his choice: Trollhattan for ...
May we name Janus to Nautilus ?
I'm happy with Vikingsnomore, also Addict.Town.

Forest Isle: let's rename this to something more unique. It will help when searching for plans (New Regia Civitas would drive me crazy!). How about, Lone Woods for example? Or Lone Fir? Lone Maple? Lone Oak?

Sorry, I'm not much help when it comes to city names.

You can see why: ;)

Our Duke is trying to show us that he has more Engineers than he has cities. Similar situation to NUF in 1660AD, Engineers, but not farmland, just starting on the swamps.

Actually, it is very clear to me. I lose track of my cities when I try to have them named otherwise. I start with A01, A02, etc, then when the geography makes a clean break (narrows or new land mass) B01, B02, etc...

Don't try to read too much into it Garynemo. ;) But, yes, at that point (1620AD) I had 174 engineers and about 140 cities. But, not the point I was trying to make. :)

1620AD with 140 cities??? I hope you weren't playing deity, otherwise we're doing really bad!

I have some suggestions for naming cities on islands, I'm quite obsessed with little islands in the middle of the ocean (in real life not in civ ;) ) So I have a few suggestions:
Bouvet
Norfolk
Pitcairn
Tonga
Puka-Puka
Suwarrow
If you need more I can give you more. :)

I like :
the Janus change into Nautilus

For island cities :
Andor
Ilian
Tonga
May it be : Troll Hattan ??
and also my :
Zyx,
Kervéguen,
Ras Tafari

:) Andor should be in the middle of a continent, well thats where it is in the books.

My 2-years-old daughter gave me some names for my GOTM23 :
Glébédoc
Malole
Klipite
Plitogue
Gaboone
