I wouldn't want the Aztecs to have more than a 50% chance of death, but that's just my personal preference. At least we all agree that it should stay away from more than 90% either way.
I love how there hasn't been a single reply in this entire thread about a new civics system I don't think there's any need for it, the current one is excellent.
I agree that it would be good if the Aztecs and Inca were conquered sometimes. I've actually never seen a superpower Spain in any of my games before though, weird.
Well, I have...they're not usually at the top but near it. Of course, in the game I'm thinking of I was Arabia and decided to...liberate the Iberian peninsula with cavalry and cannons. But Spain has more potential to become a superpower than, say, India, Egypt or Rome.
One should also bear in mind that, thanks to the corruption system, having a huge empire is not necessarily a good thing. So let the Spanish conquer the Aztecs and the Incas, get a lot of money, become a superpower, and collapse under their own weight - a simple historical model.
