Im looking for a new computer but dont really know what to buy
I mostly use my computer to Listen to Music Play games like civ 4 Rome total war age of empires
Any one have any suggestions? Also would it be better to get a dekstop or laptop in terms of cost im looking to go under 1000$

desktop will be cheaper and easier to upgrade later. with a laptop you are paying for portability

Try visiting local computer shops and ask for a PC powerful enough for new games, then compare prices. Usually PC's like that do anything else you might want to do except some rarer things like professional MIDI editing and such.

You might want to check if you want some software sometimes bundled with PC's like Works. You might save some cash when buying only the necessities. The PC should include all the cd's for components like drivers and DVD burning software.

Usually the newest desktop PC's include enough RAM (1 g or more), DVD +- RW, ~200 g hard disc and such so it's up to you what you need.

If you are looking to game, you will probably be best off to buy a dektop from a local shop. You will be getting to know them well, as you will surely want to upgrade a component here and there over the next few years. You get local support as well. You also won't get stuck with a PC that you can't upgrad becuse there was a tempting "special" or sale at some big brand website. You will probably pay more, but if you are going to game, you will get it back with all of the good advice from locals.

why not try to build your own computer? it'd be a great learning experiance for you. there are countless guides for you on the internet
