What would people here think about a new democracy game a la Red Front on Apolyton (has unfortunately been discontinued)?

I think the main problem was that their enemy was the AI, with an actual group of players for the Germans the whole thing would have lasted until the bitter end.

We could also play other scenarios, whatever would get the most votes.

So, would anybody be interested?

I'm somewhat interested, but predict that the interest will wane should the challenge disappear.

What we might consider is a semi-demo game -- pehaps taking ten to twenty turns per set of thoughts at the start; later on have a coup where somone spend ten turns taking us backward.

Or maybe replay a GOTM as a group & see if we can out score the original winners!

Well, the question is: Will the challenge disappear if we have 2 _human controlled_ groups fighting each other? I think the whole thing mainly died because of the lack of an AI opponent, thus the game was almost won after Berlin was taken, more turns would have meant further delay.

But what if the Germans fought back fiercely and gave the Russians a hard time holding Berlin? I think the game would have lasted a lot longer. The AI is just too stupid to keep people playing, you need real enemies who also got brains, not only brawns.

PS: Vote please.

How about Survivor Democracy!

(if you're not subjected to US television, that might strike you as funny)
