I am gradually moving to the "dark side." I bought an Xbox and am amazed at the graphics handling on a big screen. Regrettably, there are very few games to match Civ3. However, I saw Rise of Nations on a PC yesterday and was enthralled by the clarity of the graphics.
I have to say that I have now played some half-a-dozen games on the Xbox and it makes such a difference to have smooth screen rendering, no bugs, no downloading of patches.
My iMac is now being used for what I bought it: writing. Although, I do hang around Civ3 and other forums in the hope that we'll get the deals that come early and swiftly for the "critical masses."
I should add that much of my decision has to do with failing eyesight and the need for larger visuals. No jokes about being too shortsighted, please.
