Well, it must be close to the Armageddon. Lord, you know that I won’t fly by that lesson you taught me, to pull out my Wesson you brought me, and i’m not stressin’ it softly. Get ‘em up off me, ‘cause all we wanted harmony, been bombin’ ‘em. Yell up outta my ghetto, “I won’t settle,” get on my level.

Not entierly right. You migth whant to write the number off your move. Like this:

1. D2-D3

And you don't have to write down the scuare you move from or use capitals. This is how It chould look:

1. d3

But every one understand what you mean.

Anyway, I can beat you if you want to.

1. d3 d5
2.

That's my move: d5

And it means d7-d5. Now can you folow upp on the second row.

also, for pieces you write in capital the first letter of name. knight=N bishop=B rook(castle)=R. if there is no letter in front of move, that means it is pawn. write x for capture i.e.:NxB. + is check ie:NxB+

o-o=castle kingside
o-o-o=castle queenside. thats about it.

2. f2-f3

i have an electronic chess thing that has the peices so i'm moving the pieces and keeping record of what the board actually looks like......

yes, that's what i do. i keep it under my dresser. we gots to learn you an opening, sun. here's one.

1. e4 e5
2. Nf3 Nc6
3. Bc4 Nf6
4. Ng5 d4
5. pxp Nxp
6. Nxf7 KxN
7. Qf3+ Ke6

fried liver attack. check out other games around forum to see other openings, and ask if you need anything. also, check out the games in sample games. the first one is some low-ridin punk i played, who was no doubt smoking laundry detergent before game. he was good though, just didnt know how to play opening.

I didn't understand one thing there.
What was your first move? e4 e5?

Sun,

that's two moves. e4 is white's move (you can write it long e2-e4 but it is a pawn move - no piece is named - and only the e-pawn can go to e4. so you can write it short).

e5 is black's answer (same idea)

you can tell it's two moves because there is a space between (it could be a comma instead)

you get used to it soon.

Sun, you can look at it this way:</p>
<div align="left">
<table border="0" bordercolor="#0000FF" width="147">
<tr>
<td width="23"></td>
<td width="47" bgcolor="#FFFF00">SunTzu</td>
<td width="55" bgcolor="#00FF00">Håkan Eriksson</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td width="23">1.</td>
<td width="47" bgcolor="#FFFF00">d3</td>
<td width="55" bgcolor="#00FF00">d5</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td width="23">2.</td>
<td width="47" bgcolor="#FFFF00">f3</td>
<td width="55" bgcolor="#00FF00">Nf6</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td width="23">3.</td>
<td width="47" bgcolor="#FFFF00">&nbsp;</td>
<td width="55" bgcolor="#00FF00">&nbsp;</td>
</tr>
</table>
</div>

And as I sad, you don't nead to write down the scuare that you move your pice
<u>from</u> just the one you move <u>to</u>. And now i wrote Nf6 as my move. I
wrote an N so that you could see that I moved a Knight, but when you move a pwan
you don't nead to write it, as explained by <font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">stellar.</font></p>

sun, check out mine and haakans game. notice how i have shed a pawn to get a big lead in development(development means that i have more minor(N,B,castling) pieces on the board). our game will be quite interesting, i think, eh haakan?
