@Erich Zann: Don't start work on the tech tree yet as I am now working out what techs should go in.

that's what I'm trying to figure as well, but it's not easy to come up with some really cool ideas...
on a different topic, I don't know how you envisioned them within the Undead civ, but I think it could be cool to develop the Nerubian race idea a bit.... I've some ideas about that, if you want I can post them :)

Maybe even as a full civ ? I just love this concept of giant mummified spider/human hybrids... :king:

I would love to make the Nerubians their own civ, but I just don't think it's possible with the resources available to us(I had enough trouble trying to find a suitable graphic for one Nerubian unit for the Undead, let alone graphics for an entire civ). With that said, what other ideas did you have for the Nerubians? I would like to hear them.

EDIT: Btw, anybody out there want to try to place the terrain on that map I posted

Alright, after careful consideration I have decided to just have one genaric tech tree as it is too difficult to make separate ones for each race. Erich I'm leaving the tech tree and what techs go in it up to you. If you need to see what all I'm using for reference, look in the first post for governments and resources, and post #77 for buildings, units and wonders.

Ok, working on it as we speak. I'll get back tomorrow evening I think, by then I should have a rough sketch of the full tree. :crazyeye:

Sounds good :goodjob: .

Btw, be sure to go to the title screen thread and vote for which one should be used :D .

dunno, I'd rather envision undead cities as a gathering of cemetaries (i.e. crosses stranded in the ground) and black, thin, high towers (made of bones ?) - which would be the temples of the necromancers... just my crazy idea

Actually, yes, they would work as Undead cities because if I remember correctly the Undead turned the capital City of Lordaeron into their capita; after they overran it. That's where I got the idea of their cities looking like darker versions of the Human cities.

EDIT: Btw, it's that last one that reminds me of the Undead.

Thanks varwnos :goodjob: !

Btw, can someone tell me how to add a titlescreen? I was just testing a few images for the title screen and when I open the game to see how it looks all I get is a black screen. I have the image in the correct format and size, so can someone tell me what the problem might be.

I use Microsoft Picture It. If that is not a good program to use then could you suggest what program would be best.

Thanks Varlin, I shouldn't have any problems now.

The title screen was in truecolor rather then 256 color.
It also must have a specific palette, two spots in the palette are reserved. This is not based on color but their location. In GIMP it is the last two spaces, in Photoshop it is the first two.
Convention is to have color #1 as magenta (ff00ff, or 255-0-255) and
Convention is to have color #2 as bright green (00ff00, or 0-255-0)
For photoshop color #1 is the first color in the palette and #2 is next
For Gimp and Paintshop color #1 is the LAST color in the palette and #2 is next to last

If you download GIMP just make sure to change the image to indexed and click it to 254 colors. That all you need to do to make the color palette right in GIMP.

EDIT: If you have a file that has funny spots in game but not when you open it in GIMP, then just convert it to RGB and then back to indexed with 254 colors and it usually clears it up. I've had to do that with about 1/2 of all the pcx files in my mod.

Thanks for all the advice guys, I got my test screens to work, so now once the poll has determined which image I'll use, I'll be set with the title screen.
