New Resource Icons!!!

The walrus is part of Civanator's resource.pcx file (I think, have not taken a look yet.) It is an extra bonus resource for the game. If you follow the link in Civanator's first or maybe second post in this thread you should get that Walrus.

(by the way, I would assume that as the Captain of the Walrus', you would prefer to hunt the Seal :p )

See you around!

Thanks for the help Civanator. Did you already contact Maubp yourself or can I forward your reply to him?

I'm using play the world v1.14f and I can't see the new resources. Is this problem unique to PTW or is it a user error on my part?

I replaced the resources.pcx file, created a new map in the editor, and tried adding a new resource. I can scroll through all of the old icons, but when I set the index to one of the new icons it just shows a blank. Ditto if I try to change the icon for one of the existing resources.

I doublechecked and looked at the resources.pcx file in my folder using a graphics editor and it does have the new icons.

What am I doing wrong?

For the City screen icons:
Unzip the CityIcons1.zip forlder in your Art/City Screen folder and rename CityIcons1 to CityIcons.

I have included a backup for both files and there should be no need to back them up.

Version 1; CityIcons: [/B][/QUOTE]

Hiya,
The PSP file in the cityicons1.zip file doesnt seem to want to work in Paint Shop Pro. It sez the file is no good. Plus renaming it to a pcx file doesn't work either.
But the resources.pcx looks good! Thanks, I could use some new resources icons. Like mecidinal herbs for Cure for Cancer and Longetivity wonders. That would make the jungles more valuable to keep around..."Save the rainforests!" ;)

cya!

I am also having problems adding resources with version 1.14f. When I cut and paste resources into resources.pcx and go into the game all I see are are a bunch of black rectangles for old ones and new ones

I was wondering if any body could tell me or give me the way to expand the pink area in the .pcx files i.e resources.pcx, city icons.pcx? I am trying to add icons to the game and want to do it in every sense of the word so I can see them in the city screens etc.
Thanks,
salton

And how about:

Opium (of which heroine is made)

Hashish (of which weed and maruhana is made)

Hashish is not marijuana. Weed and marijuana are the same thing. Marijuana or "canibis" is a plant (it is not made; well it was made by God).

Cocaine comes from the coca plant.

ive got an idea for a strategic resource!
how about natron? the ancient egyptians used it in the embalming process. just a thought, perhaps it could be portrayed in some sort of amphorae, or through a mummy icon (neither of which i could do myself...sigh)
maybe granite? another egyptian commodity, used for the sarcophaguses (sarcophagi?) and burial chambers, perhaps a strategic resource for some building or wonder in an ancient-setting scenario.

ahaha! how innovative! well, thatd be lovely, except that people might think i consider mouthwash/toothpaste as a pivotal resource in the founding of grand civilizations (not good!).

If you use an image editor (i use Photoshop) you can change the size of the pink space. In photoshop you do this by changing the canvas size.
