Hello all,

I just got Civilization - Call to Power today. It's awesome! :D
Is there anything I should know or try, since I'm new?

Thanks! :scan:

EDIT: to change incorrect info...

Welcome! If you have any questions about this drug.. sorry: game :P then ask us right here. And stay! Don't leave us here.. get involved with the discussions etc (that would be really swell).

OK, more detail...
I'm playing my first world... just a continuation of the tutarial. I'm the behind the Americans (the tutorial made me kill one of their warriors so now we're enemies  ) and the Scottish. (I'm the Romans, btw :cooool: ... And I am at peace with the Scottish. :goodjob: ) I have several questions...

Is it worth it to trade maps with the Scottish?
What things do I need to lead my people to discover?
What should I concentrate on constructing?
Should I try to build as many cities as possible?
Should I destroy my enemies or be cautious and try to make alien life first?

Well, thanks for the help! :)
I'll probably have more questions later...

Thanks! :king:

If they know a lot of land that you don't then yes. Unless you have an easy way to explore that land. Each trade deal you make with your neighbors should always benefit you more than them.

What should I concentrate on constructing?

It really depends on how you want to win the game.

Should I try to build as many cities as possible?

Yes, always.

Should I destroy my enemies or be cautious and try to make alien life first?

Well, the sooner you destroy your enemies/neighbors the better. I really don't understand the second part of your question. :hmm:

I thought the tutorial said one way to win was to be the first to synthesize alien life...
Another question:
What does the little yellow icon with a fist in it next to a city mean?
Thanks!

So that I can have some frame of reference. What game are you playing and on what machine? It must be something other than CIV I Dos.

It's Civilization - Call to Power (So that would be Civ1, right?)
I'm playing it on a Pentium II 400Mhz, 512MB RAM, 52x CD-ROM, & 40GB HDD.
Thanks! :king:

Arghh! *thud* Nooo!
Call to Power is *not* Civ1.. Call to Power is an entirely different game.

What is it exactly then? Civ2? How would I tell?
Thanks!

I mainly play CTP2, but since you have C:CTP1 I might be little help.

The yellow fist means your city is revolting

AND

http://apolyton.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?forumid=5

is a link to Apolyton, where CTP1 and CTP2 has a bigger fan base who can help you better and you might feel more at home (there are a lot of CTP haters here :) !!)

Yeah big difference!

See, first came Sid Meier's Civilization. Then came Sid Meier's Civilization II. Then somewhere after that came Call to Power which is basically just a copy of Sid's Civ II.

Where could I find a C:CTP1 manual?

All my strategies are bad... so I'm trying to find the manual.

Is there any way (inc. cheats) to make all the other civs leave me alone (at peace) so I can get past Monarchy.
